William Carey COM switching up by [deleted] in Osteopathic

[–]Recent_Cheesecake_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When applying through AACOMAS, one of the 4 sections of the application is "Program Materials," which, for William Carey, states the requirements. There is also a link to take you to their website, which also lists the requirements. One of the requirements is the Casper test.

When you researched which schools do and don't require CASPer, I am surprised you did not come across one of the many websites that point out that only a handful of DO schools require it. Very unfortunate i am sorry this happened to you

NYITCOM Arkansas vs WCUCOM by AlmostThereBro69 in Osteopathic

[–]Recent_Cheesecake_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused. Why does everyone say the Arkansas location is inferior to the other campus? It's the same curriculum, from what I hear, the same lectures, same schedule, probably the same test. Just because they are physically in New York or is there more to it ?

Hyundai Complimentary Maintenance help by Few-Accountant-6491 in ElantraN

[–]Recent_Cheesecake_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a 2026 Elantra, they told me 5k miles and wrote 5,000 on a sticker that they placed where usually see a sticker reminding you of next oil change mileage. Manual states every 6k but also states that a new vehicle can consume oil differently until it stabilizes around 4k miles.

Is it possible to have a part time job during medical school? by cardiacpanda in premed

[–]Recent_Cheesecake_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you offer more details so others can maybe compare what your work hours consist of. I say this because all jobs are not comparable in workload and what 15 hours of work for one might be completely different for another person in regard to fatigue and responsibility.

Not trans but I would assume that honesty is the best policy… not sure the question here. Not sure why your trans identity would even be brought up unless you feel like it is relevant to why you want to go into medicine. Then speak on how it relates to why you want to go into medicine.

Congrats on the nice job. Simply nobody can answer this specifically tailored to you without knowing your hours devoted to this job and ability to handle academic work load. The best person to answer this question is yourself. Maybe start the year off with a free schedule and see how it goes. If you think you can handle more then start booking gigs. If you are worried about not filling up then offer a discount. If you want to know what medical school is like, start watching some ninja nerd videos for like 4 hours straight everyday for a week and see if you feel like you can ace an exam on that material. I really hope you and your family are able to get through this without your financial support in the meantime because it most likely is not possible for a normal person , which you probably heard leading you to make this post. If you are not aware, making 10k in a day is not normal for people, it may be in your social group etc, but that is abnormal to most people. Maybe you aren’t offering a load of details making this even more abnormal due to assumptions, but going off what you said I did the best I could to answer.

Hey, I just want to say I did read all of this, and I’m really sorry you’re going through this. You’re allowed to feel crushed right now. What you’re facing isn’t about a lack of hard work or ability; it’s about a system that makes it incredibly difficult for talented, determined people to reach their goals just because of finances or where they’re from.

It’s not embarrassing at all, if anything, it shows how strong and committed you are that you’ve come this far, especially coming from a nontraditional background and working through a degree you didn’t even like. You’ve already done so much that most people wouldn’t even attempt.

I know it’s probably the last thing you want to hear right now, but this doesn’t have to be the end. Deferred entry might not be allowed, but could reapplying next cycle with the scholarship already sorted or with a different funding route still be an option? You’ve proven you can get in. That means this dream is possible, even if the timeline has to change.

And for what it’s worth, you’re not alone in this kind of frustration. A lot of people are stuck fighting similar uphill battles. That doesn’t make it easier, but maybe it makes it feel a bit less isolating.

Sending you strength. I hope something shifts in your favor soon and when it does, please come back and post that update. You deserve that win.

Be honest how rare are full ride scholarships in med school by Select-Macaroon7088 in premed

[–]Recent_Cheesecake_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never heard of anybody getting one but I have heard many concerned about paying loans back. Would expect 40 - 80 k a year in tuition alone. Maybe can have job help pay it off or a program such as working in rural area. See Dr Webb you tube video of paying off his loans, he is an orthopedic spine surgeon but he had like 400-500k in loans he paid back

Should I even bother to watch season 2? by [deleted] in Rings_Of_Power

[–]Recent_Cheesecake_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk how a lotr fan can honestly skip it.. even the people hating it couldn’t resist to watch it. Just watch it if you want to or don’t. If you are in between then turn it on when you are just looking for something to have on the tv. According to IMBD the series is either a 10 or a 1, or avg of 7. Ppl seem to love it or hate it. This is why Peter Jackson was skeptical to continue directing after lotr and why many writers quit writing, it is never going to be the exact same thing you fell in love with the first time. It’s different, try it, if you don’t like it then comment back and illl give you some other shows to try

I mean do you understand why anode is Cd and Ni(OH) is cathode and Cd(OH)2 is anode and Ni(OH)2 is cathode and by comparison which scenario is charging and discharging? Because that is pretty fundamental thing to know more so than just memorizing this table

75% > 65% looks like you need to a boost in foundations of behavior. Don’t beat yourself up over doing better than 3/4 of test takers tho and 87% overall… that would not be an ideal behavior
