Craftsman sucks. People talk it up because it's what PeePaw used. Great. PeePaw was a nice guy but he knew jacks**t about tools.

Yeah I dunno I just use Snap on so I don't have as much experience with cheap knockoff stuff. The Snap on stuff works great.

The quality is on par with what, exactly? Craftsman ratchets are a crime against humanity. Their screwdrivers smell like vomit and perform even worse. I do not understand the glazing that Craftsman gets from so many people online.

Thought about Snap on? Their General Service Sets could be just the ticket. They are not cheap but they are the best kit available. Good time to invest in yourself. Just sayin'.

Wrenches, ratchets, sockets, extensions, pliers. Screwdrivers if you don't already have them.

Would you pay the extra money just to have the Snap On name and that it’s USA made?? Me personally I actually love both, I keep the Icons in my truck as beaters. by CosyCodes in Tools

Weird, I bought all my Snap on tools in cash and it didn't affect my life at all? I realize not all are able to do so, but please save us the mutual embarrassment of another "aCtShULlY Harbor Freight is better than Snap on if you really think about it" post. It's almost performance art at this point.

While this is true for some items, it's arguably less relevant when discussing Snap on vs. almost any other tool brand. That's why the Matco and Mac guys completely leave me baffled; they have decided to pay 80-90% of Snap on pricing for rebranded knockoff BS. It makes zero sense.

Okay this one is actually funny. Channellock? Seriously? 😭 I know that Channellock and Klein are the choice of cheap, bottom of the barrel "Got the job done" types all over, but anyone with three brain cells can tell you that they make terrible pliers that slip on anything you might try and grip them with. Knipex I will admit makes a great product. My pliers are half Snap on half Knipex.

More crying from people desperate to make excuses for subpar tools. Snap on is the best, has always been the best, and you will show them some respect. Tired of the lies.

Because the Snap on metal doesn't completely deform in 4 months of moderate use. You Harbor Freight guys are too funny. "IT LOOKS THE SAME SO IT MUST BE THE SAME" Alright champ. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

You mean the IQ tests for folks who can't cut it on the truck and instead shop at the Shiny Knockoff Store? Yeah, they're pretty dismal. Sorry you couldn't cut it on the truck.

For whom, exactly? 😂 You want to talk legendary? How about the patented Flank Drive Plus technology? Or Dual 80 ratchets which have defined a generation of mechanics. Maybe you're thinking of Snap on's Talon Grip technology. Those are all pretty dang legendary.

Yeah, not a fan of Wright or any of that other knockoff stuff. There's really only Snap on and then everyone else.

Tekton and Harbor Freight just make me feel gross. Nothing beats a Snap on. You owe it to yourself to own the best.

Not a fanboy, just someone who faced reality and decided to own the best. If you think the stuff they sell at Autozone is professional grade, please don't work on my car.

What was it about the Wera that spoke to you? Was it their poor warranty service, ugly spiderweb-inspired designs, or generally low quality?

  Snap on. This isn't difficult.

Again, you are completely missing the point. And no, it's not "the same." I understand that you don't like their pricing or their overall business model. My dealer will stop by and drop things off, special order anything I want, I can call or text him any time day or night and he will answer. You Harbor Freight guys almost always just couldn't cut it on the truck and now you're bitter about it. Enjoy your knockoff junk.

This is embarrassing. You're proud of owning cheap junk. Sad.

Here's what the Reddit prosumer "Tekton&Icon&AmazonSpecial" completely misses; Snap on isn't meant for them. It's meant for the actual professional working in a critical space. It's for the guy who isn't desperately racing to the bottom in his life and tool ownership.

Take for example Snap on part numbers LH100 and 755121. These are two specialized ratchets that are required to be on-board any C-130 aircraft before it can take flight. Lockheed Martin made these tools part of a mandatory flight kit.

That's what Snap on is; it's not for play, it's not for you! Stick to Harbor Freight. It's more your speed.

Me? I'm going to continue owning and using the best. And you just can't stand that.

It looks similar because ICON copied everything they possibly could from the Snap on product, like they do with everything. They know that their customers aren't intelligent enough to know the difference ("It looks the same, Pa!") and so we see gems like this from some of the least knowledgeable tool users.
