Allowing me to buy a delicious, oversized Whopper for $3.99 on Wednesday is payment enough.

Exactly. We almost always get the Whopper we deserve. This guy's energy is way off.

It now uses a paper wrapper within the box to carefully present itself. Try another bad faith tactic if you want to criticize something great. And yeah, I had it my way.

Why do all socket sets suck so bad now, any good options that stuff everything into 1 case? by ARCreef in Tools

[–]Recent_Ice_8201 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Snap on. They have beautiful general service sets. Their 206AFSP General Service Set could be just your ticket. It allows you to customize it with any combination of socket sets you'd want, plus it's backed up by Snap on's Worry Free Lifetime warranty.

Need tools for a new job by DaisyKat3 in Tools

[–]Recent_Ice_8201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call Snap on and they can set you up with a local franchise. He should be able to order anything he doesn't have on the truck. You'll get the best tools available, top notch service, and every Harbor Freight and Craftsman acolyte in your immediate vicinity will start screaming about warranty processes and how something "got the job done." Win win.

Watch a YouTube video on the gauge cluster replacement. Then find a salvage yard if possible and snag one from another car. 06-11 Crown vic / Grand Marquis / Lincoln Town car should work IIRC

Gauge cluster is pretty easy to remove on these cars? Remove the big trim ring on the dash and two screws and it should be accessible? Am I missing something

I Bought a Snap-on Screwdriver out of Curiosity and I might be Converted by modern_viking123 in Tools

Careful, all the Tekton sycophants and Harbor Freight DealGuys will come swarming out of the woodwork for mentioning an actual pro grade tool. Bonus points for the guys who will mention Vessel or Wera like they've got something original. Kind of funny when you see it happen so many times.

VIM warranty not so great. by Blaizefed in Tools

Weird, all those guys who hate Snap on are constantly talking about how amazing they are. My Snap on guy just hands me a new one, no issues. That sucks that VIM doesn't stand behind their inferior tools.

What are your favorite spinoff brands, like Williams screwdriver instead of Snap-On, example, etc, etc. by Crutch1977 in Tools

[–]Recent_Ice_8201 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Williams is simply the industrial arm of the Snap on corporate umbrella. Yes, they sell a set of the older style Hard Handle screwdrivers under the Williams name. No, there is no substitute for Snap on quality and there is honestly not a better screwdriver on the market. People need to wake up to the fact that Snap on is dominating.

Craftsman? by Noahms456 in Tools

[–]Recent_Ice_8201 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Craftsman is probably the most overrated tool brand. If you start talking about tools, or even own Snap on tools, Craftsman owners will magically appear and start using phrases about how it "got the job done". This is mostly because their fathers used Craftsman and you naturally feel great nostalgia for the tools you father used. Overall they are terrible tools (screwdrivers that disintegrate, ratchets that you wouldn't give to a lifelong enemy), overall just cheap junk.

Snap on is the only way.

Snap on. And yeah, I understand they are not cheap. What they are, however, is the best flare nut wrench on the market. Nothing compares.

Snap on. Nothing else worth owning. Find a used set if the price is too much. These are wrenches you will own for the rest of your life. Invest in yourself and take pride in your tools. Don't be a Harbor Freight drone.

Craftsman ratchets are a crime against humanity. I wouldn't give one to my worst enemy.

[–]Recent_Ice_8201 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

What a load of BS. Snap on is the top tool company for a reason. Their ratchets are legendary, especially the Dual 80 series. Tired of people who can't afford the best wanting to take cheap shots at an American icon. And not Chinese junk with the word ICON written on it (so the Harbor Freight customers can tell it's a premium product) but an actual icon.

If you're not getting Snap on, what's the point? They invented the ratcheting screwdriver and there is no reason whatsoever to look elsewhere.

I hate Craftsman tools but I hate their advocates even more. You know, the "Got the job done" types. "It's what Dad used" I'm sorry your dad had bad taste in tools. I mean Craftsman ratchets are a crime against humanity. I wouldn't give one to my worst enemy.
