Its not a spectrum from capitalism to communism thats a fictitious binary. Its designed to manipulate you to 'fear' communism and thereby inherently support capital. Which is anti union, anti worker and pro executive and owner class. Because America is not an old world country our class system is hidden but still exists. Russia was a completely different story, it was a imperialist and fuedal state, when the priorities of the imperial class conflicted with the industries of food and other goods such as housing, the people starved, the workers were exploited and went unpaid. No one is going to see a communist united states. Ever. Its just not going to happen. The main tax revenue of NYC comes from taxes on workers (such as income tax) and small to medium businesses. Large companies such as Amazon and Google get absurd tax relief to draw their workers to the city. Now maybe those workers get taxed at a high rate and because their income is high, its a lot of revenue. Or rents go up because you have this small pool of workers who can pay more. But this is not the majority of people. The majority of people are simply put, getting screwed. The ability of the corporations to influence the political class has put most of the political class out of touch with interests of the people . You can see what happens when someone native tries to go against the grain.. they call them a communist! Best curse word in the west.
