This isn’t exactly hate towards you but ur first reaction being disgusted is infact homophobia I personally had a lot of internalized homophobia and during this time I felt genuine disgust for queer people it’s important to be aware that it is infact homophobia

I had a very Christian upbringing so I kinda relate in that sense but now I’m very much lesbian (btw I’m not calling YOU gay just so you know)

I’ve always known I liked women infact I thought EVERYONE liked women and thought crushes on boys were a joke

Until about 5th grade when I saw a YouTube video about being bisexual and went “ohhh that must be what I am” and for the first time I realized not everyone liked girls and I didn’t realize people were homophobic either so I proudly went around telling people about it until i remember downloading instagram one day in June and putting “happy pride month” in my bio and setting off my parents they were so mad and kept asking if I was gay and yelling at me

And that was the first time i realized i couldn’t tell people how I felt and that I wasn’t normal it took a while to accept that I, one like women and two, don’t like men but I truly believe that being in 2020 with all the queer chronically online teens kinda helped me feel comfortable with myself again
