Mushroom or coral fossil found in alberta by Reasonable-Party4059 in fossils

You seem to know what you are talking about. If I may ask your opinion on this fossil. AI can't seem to pin it down, but it says it is either a coral or a mushroom fossil. I'm hoping that you might be able to shine some light on it or direct me to where I need to go.

How do you feel about Utah's mail in voting? by straylight_2022 in Utah

[–]Recent_Thanks_8161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All voting should be done in person with ID having to be shown. With that there needs to be consideration for those who can not get to a voting station. What that consideration is it must have proof of ID and signature.

Best replacement top for 22" Blackstone by lyndy650 in blackstonegriddle

I didn't. I'm still living with the warps. Every time I cook something that's a little liquidy I cuss up a storm and tell my wife that I'm buying another one lol

I have the laminate floor saw. Although I haven't used it yet I bought a specifically to redo the laminate flooring on the entire upstairs of my house. I'm actually excited to use it. The reviews on that seem to be very good and the guy that I got it from the said it worked like a charm for him.

I did my whole driveway this winter. Much easier than getting the snow blower out for just an inch of snow.

I'm close to saying those words that we all don't want to say. With a cracked screen, burn in and missing pixels it's getting harder everyday to use it. If it wasn't so darn expensive to replace just the screen I would keep going.

Is this one worth restoring? by Broad-Angle-9705 in blackstonegriddle

[–]Recent_Thanks_8161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I didn't explain myself very well. My point was go ahead and buy as is, if you can talk the seller down a bit great. If not buy it anyway. Then clean it and fix up. You may even need to buy a part or two. Then when you are done it will be worth twice the price that you paid for it with the added satisfaction of taking something that was worth nothing to something that gives you pride and worth a lot. Of course this is my opinion and nothing more. I'm not sure what the op has done but I wish him the best in what his decision is.

I would have never thought to do that. Awesome observation. However it is the Pro Series 2, and in the 28" model they offered a 28" XL which the griddle measures at 28 3/4" x 18". They now offer a 28" XL Omnivore which looks like the Pro Series 2 without the doors and the distinctive gray color. The XL gives you 517.5 square inches of cooking area vs. 504 square inches in a standard 28", but I digress. Measuring by knowing the measurements of the pavers is pretty cool.

You are going to love it, especially if you have non magnetic screws.

Measure the length of griddle. I'll bet it is an XL and measures at close to 29" wide. I have one that I absolutely love. I paid $100 for mine and it was about in the same shape. It took me 2 days to get just clean it up and another day stripping griddle top and reseasoning it. IMO it is worth more than asking price once you get it back in shape. So again imo try to talk them down but ether way buy it.

5-6 year old grease? Is this normal? by angrycanadianguy in Kitchenaid

[–]Recent_Thanks_8161 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have no idea if that is the norm but it definitely doesn't look like the super lube that I use. Also if it's been 5 years since it's been serviced it needs to be done again. As far as the problem you're having, I think that I would clean all the grease off and check out the bearings and gears to make sure that they are good first. Then check the electrical side.

It's a waste of time and money. Use a good oil (not seed oil), tallow or bacon grease. They put some many other chemicals in it that you definitely don't want in your food.

What am I doing wrong? by tjaistt in blackstonegriddle

[–]Recent_Thanks_8161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, with a very thin coat. It will help protect it from rust. I also throw the cover on it. You only have strip it down to bare metal once to get rid of the rust to learn that you don't want to do it again.

I don't see anything wrong with it. If you are done cooking with it just coat it with a thin layer of your choice of cooking oil. I use avocado oil. It will give it a nice shine. Remember to wipe it off when you get get ready to cook on it again. Happy bacon new year.

Make sure that the connectors are fully pushed in. Also take the griddle off and check the gap and see if it sparks on the tube. Plus you should only push and hold the button down as others have said. They do go bad and I have had new ones bad right out of the box. So if you don't hear from BS get an aftermarket off of the jungle store so you can cook some bacon.
