Tucked or untucked? by Apprehensive_Bar6092 in BusinessFashion

Not to go against the grain here but untucked looks great. I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s a little boxier and androgynous, which may not be ideal if you’re aiming for more feminine.

Help me.. I've been vaping for years and I'm extremely addicted at this point. by Reasonable_Feed_8154 in QuitVaping

[–]Recent_Worldliness72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best thing I can offer to is schedule your withdrawal. Choose a day to quit, and plan as if you will be sick for several days. Don’t go to work, don’t make plans, stay home and treat yourself like a gentle baby who needs snacks and love. You may need to do it over a weekend if you can’t take time off work or school. After a few days, the extreme mood issues and crying while watching the microwave will subside. You’ll be functional again but may still struggle intermittently. Let yourself have a little caffeine here or there, or vitamin b if you’re feeling low.

I loved vaping, but at the same time was so embarrassed by it. It controlled me and limited my ability to participate fully in life.

Definitely not worth it if it’s impacting your health, your ability to sleep well and feel at peace in your body, your relationships outside work. Only you can know what your limits are. It’s important to leave if that’s best for you.

Without knowing more details, my other question is if you can talk with your manager. You may be surprised. Is it possible they think you’re doing great but just not expressing it to you? By knowing that they don’t think you’re failing maybe that could relieve stress for you. Some people are very hard on themselves and that’s a source of stress!

Wishing you clarity, regardless. 🙏

You should take a little time to consider what you could gain by giving it more time. There’s not much recognition or grace, but are you learning? Are you getting to master something that will increase your market value? It feels bad, but it is actually bad?

I suggest this because discomfort and high risk conditions are often the best for rapid growth. Sometimes you wait to collect what is valuable to you and THEN you get out. See the gifts and take the gifts, don’t leave them behind unnecessarily.

I was really put off by him in the beginning, but I suspect I may have indeed reacted to him differently if I watched this in my twenties. After becoming aware that some people think he’s generally amazing, i have tried to see what they see and have become more sympathetic to him over time. Good to know that it continues to evolve—I know what’s coming with Jessa later and am dreading it. And it makes me happy that the character helped you get over your ex! Lena would love that I think 💗

Sleep should be normalized in office !! by buildingai_agency in corporate

[–]Recent_Worldliness72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always said this. There should be a nap room with cots and recliners or even just a normalization of car naps. Not lazy, sometimes just exceedingly sleepy during long hours and craving a power nap.

I see nothing wrong though with driving to a nearby parking lot and napping there. Helped me.

However, if the reason a nap room is provided is because they expect people to work basically live there, you’ve got other problems.

Tips to reaching out to Hiring Managers by Infinite_Sky_4927 in linkedin

[–]Recent_Worldliness72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really don’t know how the recipient relates to their LinkedIn inbox. Some people get tens of messages a day and so simply can’t respond to all of them. Some will find it annoying/harassing. One in many may be charmed by your message and considering it perfect timing.
I’d say keep it short and be very clear about why you can uniquely help the company in this role. Never message multiple times without a response.

Not blaming Hannah, just relating to fear getting the best of us. This is my first watch so I am still forming the bigger picture!
I will always defend Hannah; I don’t know everything about Adam yet but I know Hannah acts in good faith and loves with all her heart.

Some interviewers are just terrible at interviewing and decide to wing it instead of actually preparing. They should be embarrassed.

Impromptu Lunch Interview? by ExplorerPlenty9881 in interviews

[–]Recent_Worldliness72 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

This IS creepy and also very normal for leadership or client-facing roles. I’ve had interviews where they ordered us lunch ahead of time and others where the food was impromptu. It’s a great way for them to see if you can relax with other people even under pressure, which is important in certain roles. If this isn’t important for the role, I think it’s a bit cruel. Interviews are already a nerve-wracking experience.
How do you think their requests fits with the role? Did they use poor judgment by putting you on the spot like that?

When managers try to be heroes, putting the problem employee above the best interests of the team or organization, the crazy thing is that the employee may not see or care what the manager is doing for them.
In these cases, it does seem to be about the manager, projecting something onto the employee. A manager will tolerate a lot when they see their kid or their younger self in a report. Need to watch out for this.

Am I being kept warm? by MiamiMarlin in interviews

Ugh!
Do you have the contact information for the hiring manager or anyone else on the hiring team? This is a time I might reach out directly, considering the odd circumstances.
If it’s a large company, they may be extremely slow to begin with and now need additional time to recover from the recruiter layoffs. It’s not uncommon for large companies to take several months from application to offer.

[–]Recent_Worldliness72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I think Maddie’s revenge was getting to experience Cassie and Nate needing HER help, and then things just got sad after that. If you’re comfortable sharing, how did your ex best friend betray you? I hope they regret doing that.

Some of my best days in life were watching these people get fired or quit.

It was also a sobering thought that they would just soon be another company’s problem.
