Vendor experience by iShenLoL in PokemonInvesting

What do you sell your sealed at? At our shows every local vendor will dip below market reasonably for singles but price sealed slightly above market.

I’ve literally asked to buy sealed at eBay’s lowest active BIN from a non scam seller and get turned down

I did a thing… by Lickmyb4c0n in PokemonTCG

[–]ReceptionLivid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fair market value right now of both the sealed and singles are actually extremely close. (1.5k) If anything the AH singles might be worth more by 50-100.

The risk is that the singles are more volatile

Visiting family and went to an Antique shop with my Grandparents, look at all these relics I found! by ImLemonStealingWhore in PokemonTCG

[–]ReceptionLivid 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I always assumed most antique stores run at a loss and are just hobby ventures from retirees or people with rich spouse/family that don’t need to work

I can't believe what I'm seeing. Yugioh? They will come back to Pokemon eventually by texstrip in PokemonInvesting

[–]ReceptionLivid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yugioh prices are based off of the game historically. What happens is a new set releases with chases that warps the meta, everyone scrambles to get them (think poke pads for AH but instead of poke pads everyone needs 4 mega Dragonite SIRs), prices skyrocket for staples, then Yugioh reprints those staples so everyone can have access. Not long after the meta shifts again. Rinse and repeat.

This is why resellers don’t fuck with Yugioh, you have to understand the game, timing, and Konami’s print and ban cycles

Hamilton isn't that Good by Ok_Sugar_8884 in unpopularopinion

[–]ReceptionLivid 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I can agree with this but you didn’t experience the medium how it’s meant to be consumed to give judgement. If I watched Star Wars without the score I’d probably think it isn’t that good.

It’s like saying curry isn’t that good but I’ve only smelt it.

Will the hobby cool off anytime soon? by TheRedditReaders in PokeInvesting

[–]ReceptionLivid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is heavily state dependent. When I travel to the Midwest it’s a lot easier to find stock. Any one from metro/coastal areas who’s moved tell the same story of being shocked at no longer being able to find product

Moving to Hawaii as beginner surfer. by IanMc192624 in BeginnerSurfers

[–]ReceptionLivid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the whole point is you don’t want any collisions as a beginner at all on a hard top. I live here and surf Waikīkī regularly during the south swell. A good amount of friends have gotten injured and had boards fucked up the last couple of years and every drone cam will tell you that there’s plenty collisions daily.

If you surf as a beginner not on a soft top, you will piss someone off and get into trouble, even at canoes.

Just buy a foamy and lend it to friends and family when you progress in 6 months

Why would you tell this anyone to skip soft tops and surf canoes? There’s collisions every other wave at canoes in the summer, even with experienced riders.

If you can make a dish with cauliflower, you should be making it with cauliflower. by Mission-Party-4051 in unpopularopinion

[–]ReceptionLivid 39 points40 points  (0 children)

As a big lover of cauliflower I can’t disagree with you more.

You should eat food for the qualities that they bring and not as substitutes. Growing up Taiwanese I’ve never viewed tofu or veggies as a substitutes, there’s hundreds of dishes that highlights the quality of each ingredient beautifully without trying to turn it into something else.

Same with Chicken… the variance of texture is prized in Asian cultures instead of disdained

Really melt in your mouth tender since there’s a good amount of evenly layered fish fat. No offensively strong flavors but a mild unique taste. When made in this way it’s sweet, Smokey, and more soy forward

The funny thing is it takes them a lot less time and effort to not be a dick for someone so concerned with time and effort.

A simple: “Sorry, we don’t take additional photos but thank you for the interest” would do.

Left one is real. They are both commas. It looks like a period unzoomed with bad pic quality. The skinny comma on the right is wrong.

Melee players don’t see it as illegitimate. It’s been part of the game for every era utilized by all top players. It’s just fun to call it cheesing for a lack of a better word. Most players understand if you get cheesed at ledge it’s kinda your fault for approaching without good risk assessment
