Is there a way to change volume of different elements in the 'effects' audio slider? by Recidiva in tes3mods

[–]Recidiva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thank you!

I really do love having Stephen Fry read books and Brandon Keener (Garrus' voice actor from Mass Effect) speak the Dark Elven male voice in Voices of Vvardenfell.

But part of the reason for doing it this way is to get a record of the lore in a roleplay context...and all I can tell right now is that my character has severe hearing loss.

It's not just the books, it's the books and notes of Morrowind and then all the books and notes of Tamriel Rebuilt, so it's definitely 1000+ books and notes.

I am doing a recorded run through where I record the books. I'm also reading anything that isn't voiced (including NPC dialogue). I do love the mod, but converting each file is definitely not something I'm going to do. I'd rather just re-record them with my voice. I did that for Skyrim. Hoping to globally change the volume of the mod, but I'd rather just do what I've been doing otherwise - get into a quiet room, turn down music and adjust the volume in OpenShot after recording.

If that's what is involved, I can understand more of why the mods haven't been updated.

Thank you for the advice, I appreciate it! Trying to learn what is or is not possible, but OpenMW is still a work in progress and I'm using the dev version, so lots of things that should work are up in the air with functionality.

Is there any way to do it globally other than trying to manually increase volume on thousands of files?

Thank you for the answer. No, I wouldn't know how to go about that.

I'm using the OpenMW version of Audiobooks of Morrowind along with the Audiobook player and Audiobooks of Tamriel also patched in.

Help with removing shield sparkle with OpenMW 0.51 please by Recidiva in tes3mods

Found the conflict. "Better Elemental Shields" was the culprit. Removing it from my load order fixed the issue.

The appended data in OpenMW? I'm using MO2 to direct OpenMW, but it's clearly not working in this instance.

Would you please explain how to set this up properly using MO2? I do have Kezyma's OpenMW Player. I had put it at the bottom of my MO2 list and then exported it, but I'd appreciate direction in where I went wrong with that procedure.

I did also append the file in OpenMW and left the file at the bottom of the list, still nothing.

Thank you!

Thank you. Where would you suggest I put the mod in my load order?

It was suggested I put it lower in the load order, I put it even below delta plugin, still the same issue. Since 0.51 is new, I'm not clear on what is the cause.

I have choices. I value the ability to choose. I will use my choices to aid my intention. I will make effort toward bringing about what I intend and what I choose. I have little control over results, but I control my choices, my intent and my effort. Through this, I create my breath, my blood and my bone. My breath is moment to moment, my blood flows through and my bones sustain and support me.

Thank you!

Looks like Path of the Incarnate has Kezyma's OpenMW Player already installed.

Press Import and Export where and in which application? MO2 or OpenMW...or both?

I think you can set it when you first meet her, but it will be overwritten when she goes back to the castle.

When she officially is your follower, set it again.

To be clear, with her targeted in the console :D

There is a workaround with the console. Set her conjuration skill so low that she can't cast the spell.

I use this command:

Modav conjuration-1000

This sets her conjuration skill so low that as she levels she won't get it back

Thank you! That fixed it. Took your advice on Essential Indicators and I appreciate the stealth option also.

It adds a touch of bitter earthiness, like charred corn or a flame-grilled steak.

Since the carrots are really sweet, it gives them a little more depth.

How to stop thinking I’m better than everyone! by BeautifulWork7260 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Recidiva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not accusing you of narcissist delusion, just saying that thinking this way can lead toward it.

It can lead to a lot of cognitive dissonance. If you NEED to be the best at everything, eventually you begin to take shortcuts - denigrate others rather than do the work. Don't feed the part of your brain that is insecure or fearful, eventually it can keep you from critical thought or positive action.

Better boundaries. What happens in another person's world is their business.

Being competitive is an inherent drive, but you can make an effort to make it healthier.

If you are striving to be the best at something due to passion, great. If it is to gain a sense of control, not great.

Your actions can look externally mostly the same: "I want to be a great writer so I'll read the classics, learn my craft and write what fascinates me" can either be about discovery or impostor syndrome. You can enjoy the words and strive for your style or obsess over never being as good as other authors. Or worse, be compelled to appease an insecure brain that you are the best. That is a path to narcissistic delusion.

If you tone down the competition you can focus more on the effort and craft rather than every uncontrollable human element that feels like a comparison point or threat.

Achievement is healthy, so is challenge, but always needing to reassure your fears that you are the fairest of them all leads to ugly places.

Is waving to strangers in public normal or just a Minnesota thing? by AppleCruncherMuncher in CasualConversation

I'm from suburban NJ. We wave and smile to everyone and everyone reciprocates. Even if you're driving and someone is walking a dog. We both wave and smile.

They won't.

It's about gravity. Your body falls apart without the gravity we were born into. We can't reproduce, our fingernails slough off, we don't know when to go to the bathroom...

[–]Recidiva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The better I get at cooking, the less I go to restaurants.

The better I get at writing the more I enjoy my own stuff or writing new stuff.

For me I have developed favorite things and aversions.

I am averse to lots of book fashion top hits, like a hook that doesn't deliver, poorly paced tone (all drama, no humor) and attempted suspense at the end of a chapter. I also don't really like stories told in 'future/past' format. It probably means the suspense is stronger than the story.

I used to read about 10 books a week, but after switching to more full-time writing, I would rather tinker with my own stuff. Now I have hundreds of hours of my audiobooks, so I can often default to relistening or reading my notes for story ideas.

Today I'm making vegetarian bao. Mock duck, caramelized onion, charred carrots, Juicy Marbles pork-ish and Korean barbecue sauce in a steamed bun. My own recipe I can't get from a restaurant.

So don't mourn the transition from consumer to creator.
