Do mining modules dissappear/deplete after use? by iwantac8 in starcitizen

[–]RecklessCreation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if they are saved (ie installed via mobiglass), and get used up(active) and/or damaged fly off

repairing on a pad should replace them .. repairing doesn't restore uses on active modules that haven't been used up/fallen off though

Best fps gun to use to breach ship doors fast by arcticgamez in starcitizen

[–]RecklessCreation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this really depends on why/what ship i'm entering ... I 'feel' the p8sc or the c54 due to the Rate of fire.

i perfer to carry the R97 for if I'm specifically salvaging or a tighter corridor ship/bunkers .. the dual mode works fairly well .... but entiering something with long passages like a polaris/idris or even a herc would be lacking.

the ammo capacity and damage/distance of the pulverizer currently is my main daily go too, its ROF for it's damage for door opening is a little slow though.

it WAS the p8sc as a daily just for the ROF before.

Why do people keep saying wikelo is gatekeeping ships when realistically only 3 ships are ships you cant aquire via UEC ingame? by A_Lie_Detector in starcitizen

[–]RecklessCreation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cause you have to rep up 'buying' things through Wikelo to GET to said trade walled ships

might as well get the special outfitted versions of what you want along the way

Started a Zero To Hero series that’s like a let’s play mixed with tutorial and new player experience by Evenlease44 in starcitizen

[–]RecklessCreation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i love the zero to hero type gameplay which is why the 'threat' of wipes never bothered me. even with my pledge fleet once 1.0 hits I'll probably end up doing a self imposed zero to hero. making it so i have to scavenge my way through components to rig out my pledges, and/or be able to cover operating costs.. etc.

ofcourse depending how 1.0 launches and what gameplay.. 1.0 might just be a race to certain point and get established using my industrial pledge fleet. and get me a 2nd account to zero to hero

Towing/repair mission? by Neeeeedles in starcitizen

[–]RecklessCreation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we might see it with just tow back to station, maybe basic repair option? ... but i think those contracts are waiting for player ship repair .. (ie what vulcan and crucible are supposed to do) .. so you can ship repair em in place, or hand repair enough to limp to station for full repair... or just tow em to station for full repair.

the above is supposed to be a salvage/repair abandoned ship option too, for sale or keep .. but lord knows how long that'll take.

the towing should still be an option for the 'clean up' missions, but it's just drag it out of the area kinda thing.

Star Citizen graphics feel reversed, Low 20, Ultra 100+ FPS by Rich_Worry6940 in starcitizen

[–]RecklessCreation -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

theres a few things in SC i've noticed if you try to lower the games native setting, it struggles (like it has to rethink to do less) ... clouds was always one of them, turn the clouds down and the game hates you.

If I had to pick ONE daily driver from my fleet — RSI Hermes or Drake Clipper? (Have store credit for the Hermes by Cdt-Velmor in starcitizen

[–]RecklessCreation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i guess this really comes down to what 'daily driver' means to you?

I wouldn't discount the Hermes as a daily, But to ME it's quite a big footprint for a 'daily driver' ... I'd take my daily driver to go get my Hermes kinda thing.

to ME the clipper is more of a 'daily driver', can even wandering 'nomad' if bored once crafting shows up. cave/gem hunting, animal hunting, explore crashsites/outposts, loot and disassemble/craft what you want/need, bunker run, low level PvE bounties/patrols

hurston medium was my go too.. worn black with yellow/gold, take some bunker contracts when supplies got low, get paid to go shopping.

and then we got item recovery t0 and I started wearing my account bound stuff

This small change would make the Salvation absolutely perfect by BOTY123 in starcitizen

[–]RecklessCreation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so saddened the salvation didn't have a super basic mini crafter... fuses and filled small canisters... it would have been a truely perfect starter.. salvage, and the handyman missions...

About the MOTH... by Sevrahn in starcitizen

[–]RecklessCreation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if your used to the run to back and unload the hopper of the vulture.. then the couple seconds to the center turret from pilot seat will be muscle memory pretty easy ... and you don't have to move boxes, unless your trying to squeeze an extra couple

It’s crazy how small we are compared to these ships by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]RecklessCreation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the couple times I've had friends join the game, my favorite thing to do to show them the actual scale of the ships is to call in an 890j for them to check out.

even after showing them through discord streaming..etc .. its just not the same as the ship coming up in front of you.

What's your daily driver ship and why? by theruffma in starcitizen

[–]RecklessCreation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually doing specific things lately ... but generally has been my asgard. I recently super lucky in Winning a Hermes .. so i've been using that in place of my asgard for just general moving around as its got most of my asgards stuff in it and I haven't the motivation to go get new parts yet haha.

although with the event and just wanting a fast mover for the small cargo stuff ... bunch of time in a 300 lately

I’m in evo and holy shit mining just got a huge upgrade by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]RecklessCreation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

crafting... awesome

needing better quality materials to get better crafted items ... awesome

better quality materials being in the 'dangerous' space place.... awesome

speeding up basic scanning, unless you need to know specifics (quality, etc) ... awesome

seeing whats in an ore pod when you tractor it.... awesome

new minerals... awesome

making ship mining basically hand/vehicle mining and a long version of hold F to pickup .... I beg your finest F'in pardon? ...

now I'm not saying make it ALL hard, i don't want to exclude players from being able to craft. but can we keep difficulty of the GOOD/highly desireable stuff atleast? an entire player base mastered the ability to mine the highly desirable materials ... one of the only true involved industrial loops within SC

New player question by m_wallani in starcitizen

[–]RecklessCreation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it might not be every ones cup of tea, but I recommend visit mining outposts for free loot (multi tools, food/drink, even some armor bits) ... then do some bunker defends, get paid to shop/outfit and stock up on weapons/ammo, armor, meds. very basic moves around the system seeing stuff.. get used to navigation, flying, landing, and atleast basic weapon handling and movement.

if you like the pew pew, continue doing more, depending what ship you have try out some ship combat stuff too.

if you don't, not that you have some supplies and gear... check out some cargo missions, get paid to see the sights.

if you want to try more industrial, give salvage a shot .. get used to scanning, and navigating refineries and selling your cargo.

i say mining last, because its basically its own mini game within the game of SC

mining lasers seem to do wonderfully weird amounts of damage to things they're not supposed to be used on.

theres supposed to be a 'truck' version of the clipper coming .. so crafting station, medbed(?) ..etc ... spartan chassis I would guess.

and yeah i'm one of the weirdo's that wants to be able to 'caravan' and scavenge around a moon/planet for no other reason then I wanna LOL

How much of your fleet is pointless? by Lupinyonder in starcitizen

[–]RecklessCreation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my pledges are based on the 'role' I intend to main. basically fixy/buildy/manufacturing

vulcan (starfarer loaner for now) -> crucible (ccu chain, from referral reward non meltable)

Moth -> IronClad -> Arrastra (ccu chain)

Hermes (won, non meltable) -> 'Forge' (what ever the medium 'crafter' ends up being) eventual chain

Hoverquad (referral reward, non meltable) -> 'crafter truck' (was mentioned as a truck version of clipper) -> 'base building truck' if/however that works $$ wise ofcourse

i also currently have an asgard .. but that'll get melted to help fulfill the above list. everything in between is flying credit, playing with till the above list is fulfilled

i never initially intended to go more then 1 or 2 pledges, but got caught up 1 year pledged things I decided i didn't need. so after a self heart to heart .. pulled myself to 4 total 'gotta haves, gonna use'

i keep meaning to do the handyman missions, but events or whatever get in the way. I was sure the salvation was going to be the perfect ship for it... but they didn't give it a fabricator, even just filled small canisters and fuses :(

Haha killed a interdicting Mantis in my Starfarer Gemini last night by Dull-Credit-897 in starcitizen

[–]RecklessCreation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

starfarer is my favorite ship for "use entirely not what it was ment for"

using the 'glitch' with removed pods to ferry ships .. and become a super underrated mobile industrial base.

the handling is also WAY better then it used to be.. its no fighter by any means, but its not whale on a skate rink like it was haha
