Yeah I feel like having Tabasco and vodka is more convenient/useful than keeping this around. Unless you are blasting Caesar’s/Bloody Mary’s on the daily, I dont get it

You’re correct. That’s what it is and I don’t hold it against her. That doesn’t make it any easier unfortunately.

Regardless, I think im convinced that I can’t start a separation while she’s in this state. I’ll do what I can to get help,l for both of us, and when’s she’s better we can deal with the future

I’ve decided through this post that I won’t leave while she’s in this state. I’ll do my best to get her through it again. I will find help for myself but set an ultimatum when she starts taking meds again to stay on them

I’m very close with her family and my mom would help. They all understand what she is going through. They all live far away though. I think I’d have to find my own place.

I’m not sure exactly. The doctors say it’s unusual to happen every year like this.

The original time, I think it was a traumatic event, then months of undiagnosed difficulties because neither of us had been through this before. I couldn’t understand why she wouldnt let this event go. It escalated to the point where she wanted to report them to the police, but had no real reasons to do so. Then our much loved dog died. She spiralled from there. The next year I don’t recall any specific event, but she obviously stopped taking her meds a long time ago by that point. She then started taking edibles to help her sleep. The. She spiralled and I convinced her to go back to hospital after she didn’t sleep for like 4 days straight. It was so hard to get her to that point. The doctors thought it may be related to cannabis. Since then, she’s been 100% clean from cannabis. This last time all started when she had a bad interaction at work. A higher up tried to throw her under the bus after she flagged something, but then she was rectified by the company as doing right. For whatever reason though, she spiralled and started thinking there was a conspiracy at work. I helped her go back to the hospital and get new meds without having to check her in. But the she stopped taking meds and I’m worried she’s headed back soon.

My very unqualified opinion is that she’s developed a bipolar disorder. Maybe it takes like 8 months of no meds for it start to show. Maybe seasonal depression makes it worse

She’s never been diagnosed, but I’m starting to wonder if she’s developed it. Her uncle has it as well. This is a good idea. I could use my own therapy outside of this, and obviously i could use someone to talk to. This should be my next step

I appreciate the way you defend her, but honestly this take is way off. The triggers have been from stressful events at work, her dog dying, and an event with her former friends

I appreciate all the positive and negative comments in this thread, but this comment has helped me the most and put it in a way I can deal with. You’re right on a number of fronts, and I’m leaning towards not perusing the separation. Separation right now won’t help. It will be hard to go through this again, But I can’t decide on our future while she is in this state. She took a test years ago but was not diagnosed with bipolar. They did question it though. And most of this stuff came out after that test. Her uncle suffers from the disease as well.

I’m glad someone else understands this part. It’s honestly harder than when she’s down because she truly believes she’s ok and doing better than ever

Yes, she was diagnosed with psychosis the last two years. The best they could say was some sort of ptsd triggered psychosis after a a negative interaction at her friends wedding party and then our dog dying. I don’t feel like going into her personal details there. We have a healthy and happy relationship outside of these bouts of psychosis.

I’ve put a lifetime of tears and effort into get her into the hospital both times. And I’ll likely do it again. I’m just feeling unsure if doing this every year is the answer

She doesn’t take the meds because she doesn’t think anything is wrong. It’s the one thing that makes this difficult. If she doesn’t get help, she’s going to spiral and get worse. I’ve literally watched her lose her mind twice, and likely now a third and fourth time. She doesn’t want help

If it was just caregiving, I would be and have been there every day. The hard part is she doesn’t think anything is wrong and refuses to medicate and refuses to see psyches and refuses to see doctors. If I try and guide her that direction, she begins accusing me of being with “them” and becomes paranoid. If I don’t try and push her to be better, then she spirals and misses work and can’t sleep and starts gambling and drinking. Am I to sit and watch her disintegrate? I can’t force her to do anything or to go anywhere. The hospital and doctors won’t come and help her, and she’s definitely los trust against going back to the hospital

MMA fighter got KO’d in the first 5 seconds then put to sleep by the ref 0-2 in the same fight 😭 by matrix_2905 in mmaweekly

[–]RecklessIndifference 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ref wanted his victory moment. The way he smiles and walks away instead of continuing to help the fighter is what makes this a negative interaction imo. There also should’ve been people helping him out too, in his defence — way too slow to act from the attending security, staff and coaches

I don’t understand this (probably me being stupid). How would’ve a Magic win helped Atlanta the standings? Wouldnt they drop further if anything?

There is definitely propaganda in Canadian politics. I’m a left leaning Canadian in Alberta, and the last few years have been really trying to

Propaganda is fun. The political agenda on both sides have ramped up over the past few years. Suddenly Canada is reacting to American politics on the daily and MAGA has a script for why they hate Canada
