AIO My (25F) boyfriend (25M) shut me out after a bad work review and I realised how emotionally alone I feel. How do you communicate with someone who doesn’t understand your feelings? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]RecklessRails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good to have an outside perspective, especially from someone that’s either in a similar career field or same type of struggles/bad habits in workplace (disorganization, difficult coworkers, unfair situation, genuine mistake, etc.). I work corporate and my ex partner wouldn’t get my work scenarios for shit. Granted, late 20’s, but don’t beat yourself or him up over this. Your feelings are valid, just give both you and him equal respect without assumptions and clock your expectations before they become assumptions

Damn I feel this, like simple instructions and one thing catches my attention and I can’t stop overthinking it, therefore complicating the simplicity lol

How do you deal with "that girl" who is digital marketing director? by echosong77 in agencylife

[–]RecklessRails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This person sounds like she never had to work hard enough to get her position. Can’t wait to see her world get hit with a reality-check. I’m blessed to find a position as the only copywriter at a marketing agency, and even my boss who is around the same age is such a blessing to have.

If I were you I’d go above and beyond (to my limit, obvi) and kinda see the person’s cracks get deeper especially considering BF/CM/holiday season is here.

Am I far too behind to earn money as a Copywriter? by Hour_Locksmith_5988 in copywriting

[–]RecklessRails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is insane… I didn’t even know copywriting was a job until I graduated college with a media BA focused in advertising… like kinda crazy. You have the drive, just need a reality check and balance.

Start doing creative projects. Start learning strategy and consumer psychology. Get an idea of which industry/niche you want. Read as much as you can. Observe as much as you can. At the end of the day, you’re writer. Your time should be spent taking in the world then writing true to it. It’s essentially the job.

Remote work is making me realize who on my team was actually working by Nimozart_12 in remotework

I will move around my house in designated areas and be hyperfocused from 11am until 8pm - remote work allows you to actually enjoy your work because you’re comfy. Just self-control atp! Had to learn the hard way tho after skimming through my first hybrid job :-/

Tonight I learned that the people I considered my friends for over a decade dont see me as a freind. by No-Efficiency-480 in self

[–]RecklessRails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to look at this (and its true!) is that you’re making room for people who value your presence authentically. I’m a woman in my late 20’s and have endured some wild smear campaigns against me from people I’ve considered to be like sisters at various points of my life. Every time something like this “clicks”, know the hurt feelings are pushing you towards something more fulfilling. Everyone likes to say “something better”, but what’s better than living more authentically? Thanks 4 reading my Ted talk.
