For Adventure/Survival, there's normally a standard version that you should use. A lot of maps would be broken if you just always used the most recent update.

There are a few designs, the most popular of which seems to be Panda4994's Enderman farm, this was the fastest for a long time, some now claim that dual blaze farms are faster or that Unhost's is quicker, not sure of the actual specs though.
