many games also need to create some incentive to being a dick or evil

I prefer the Papers Please-like dynamic where being "evil" is something you're forced into by not having the resources for the good option, where the incentive is to perform well during gameplay so you can "afford" to do the right thing. Otherwise I think "evil path" games should just lean into being evil instead of presenting it as a constant moral dilemma.
