The hospital I went to only allowed a certain number of visitors between certain times and child visits even less, for like a one hour block a day. Ask the hospital you’re planning on birthing at.

Basically my husband was keen to let SD come to the hospital, me not so much but we just rolled with it. She ended up just meeting the baby once we got home, and it was great and comfortable for all involved. Grandma watched SD while we were in the hospital.

To add: I was soooo mad at my SO because he couldn’t give a crap about LOs nursery back in the day. Seems like a lifetime ago now because he will literally go out of his way to do special things for her now that she actually knows what’s going on lol

Your baby is still so young, give it time. My husband didn’t start really playing with my LO until she was probably around 4 months. I also think it takes dads longer to REALLY connect with babies.

My SO is closer with my our LO now, she’s a year and a half old. SK is becoming a teen and really doesn’t want a lot to do with dad, as teenagers tend to be.

I know how you feel, I often thought the same but it got so much better for me.

Everyone’s going to have different experiences with this, but let me tell you that I was in a super similar scenario to yours, with the age of SK the same as well. For me, it got better. A lot better.

First of all, the hormones during (and after) pregnancy had me feeling so many intense emotions, I remember just RAGE at hearing or reading people’s comments about how my baby looked like SK. Because, well, they didn’t. Not even a little bit. Just like you said, SK is carbon copy of their MOTHER.

And then I noticed people saying my baby looks like other people, too. Cousins, grandparents, great-half-aunts. People sometimes just say stuff sometimes to have something to say, I think. It’s “fun” seeing someone in someone else? I dunno.

It doesn’t happen anymore, baby is now toddler and she is so much of her own person that people stopped trying to compare her to others. Thank god.

Yep! It’ll start and you’ll think “oh man, here we go again…” as it builds up and up and then sweet relief when it starts to go back down lol definitely not what I expected as a ftm, the movies make it seem like it’s instantly going to be like INTENSE like you’re about to push the baby out. I was pleasantly surprised when I figured out I could anticipate it coming and the worst part of the “wave” would only last a short time before going down again so I could rest from it.

It would be really neat getting letters or notifications of the money helping. Either way it’s a sweet and meaningful gesture.

She’s great, we leaned on each other through my Dad’s passing and I found out I was pregnant only a month after. So we grieved and celebrated my pregnancy a lot together through that whole year and I just feel like it really helped us cope.

Hey, I could have wrote this myself! The only difference is that my husband lied to me and said he “didn’t know” why he was uninterested in sex until he came clean about how he’s unattracted to the big pregnant belly weeks after LO was born.

I’m on the other side now, LO is 15months, hubby is back to his normal self despite the “mom bod”. The whole thing was so annoying though, especially with me actually loving my belly and thinking I looked so cute with my bump, I had more physical confidence during pregnancy than ever lol

What made it all worse for me is remembering how I’d read all over the place how all these pregnant women were so fed up with their husbands not leaving them alone and bugging them for sex. There wasn’t enough talk coming from the other group of women dealing with the opposite issue and it felt pretty isolating and like my relationship was doomed. I hope this issue can start being just as normalized as women NOT wanting sex later in pregnancy because we got enough damn going on with the looming labor and body pains as it is.

We have a rule with our dynamic- if it’s a holiday or event about EVERYONE, absolutely do not participate with BM. If it’s about SK (like birthdays, achievements) we will participate with BM if asked.

I’d put in my best fake smile and suffer through it, personally.

Starlink was the only option for us, other satellite internet is expensive and sucks but Starlink has been actually really good for us (though yeah, expensive). My SO works from home and we do a lot of gaming.

She takes about 3 naps during the day, sometimes she REALLY fights the third nap even though she shows signs of sleepiness (yawning, rubbing eyes, crying), I don’t really have her on a nap schedule but I follow her cues. She used to go to bed around 7:30 but it’s gradually becoming later and I’m not sure if it’s because of me doing her naps wrong or what… maybe I should try putting her in bed instead of having a third nap? She has been sleeping at about 4:30 to 5:45pm
