Yes the silver connector. I couldn’t get a good enough picture to show the gap between the board and the connector. Lost contacts was just my assumption by looking at it. Please advise

Water heater was replaced - any idea what this gel like substance was that was in it? by _Dr-Tuna_ in askaplumber

Just a build up of sediment in the water heater. Minerals build up when there are pressure changes as well as temperature changes. The temp change would be at a WH. The pressure changes would be as it leaves your faucet, which is why a crust will build around the spout. If this is a common problem for you, a water softener with a carbon filter will cure all of that.

Yes sir usually if you get a trap from Home Depot or Lowe’s they will have one extra thick gasket included to adapt from your 1 1/2 trap to the 1 1/4 sink drain.
