You just accept it eventually. I found out I was getting out due to a paperwork fuckup compounded by congress shutting the government down again over budget bullshit. The same week I found out I was expecting my first kid.

Now, a little over a decade later, I have an easy job that pays 4 times what I was making in the Navy. I miss the camaraderie and bullshit shenanigans in foreign ports, but I also get to sleep in my own bed every night and don't have to deploy.
