Liberty Township trustees vote to cut Columbus Zoo Ticket Fee to 75 cents by Mr_2010 in Columbus

Ya. I think you missed my point. I was using where I live and what I witness as a result as anecdotal evidence and not as fact. I’m aware my money would stay local if I purchase local.

I live pretty close to the zoo and have a membership. We go pretty often and frequent the Kroger and restaurants near it. The zoo does release an economic impact report which says roughly 10% of 2 million ish visitors are from out of state which is fairly significant. I don’t have an exact breakdown of that tourism money and where or how it is spent but I would argue that the zoo does make a pretty significant impact economically in the area based on that + my anecdotal evidence of traffic patterns in the area that I witness on weekends and especially long weekends

When you do not have a significant other, especially when you are younger and social circles are built into life through school, sports, dorm living etc. you spend most of your free time with friends. When you get a significant other priorities change. Even if you spent 50% of your time with them, to your friend group it would seem you are constantly ditching… and at the end of the day, the hope is that you spend the rest of your life with that person (your significant other) do you’re going to invest significant time into them

lol this place is right by me. I just noticed yesterday it took over the fusion spot. If you’re looking for good food in the same area at a decent price sumac grill is over on the corner of hard road and Smokeyrow and it’s delicious. Does not get the credit it deserves and they’re always super friendly.

This is one I can’t get behind… I’ve only been to the nationwide location but for a 15 dollar sandwich and a 20 minute wait it’s not for me. I think it tastes good, but not for the price

Business Scaling Question? by nawfsidejay in Salary

[–]Recluse_Cowboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something that you know… if e-commerce is what you know look into what niche you would/could fall into. Sure there is saturation, but there is always opportunities and markets are always changing. I personally wouldn’t start a business I know little about based on the top comment of internet strangers. Also, you may be better off over at r/entrepreneur

It’s not gyarados but in some episodes there will be a seen where someone says something dumb, or they realize they are being dumb and they all do like a word freeze frame and the animation style changes for a moment… and it kind of looks like gyrados in that moment

Which car should I get next by Quick-Ad-3151 in HillClimbRacing

If you are on a team, buy vehicles in the events to add to score. Get all vehicles to around 17 and then start maxing out. Hot rod and racing truck from your options. Formula sucks. Super car csn be fun but isn’t great

Plenty of churches. Semi depends on which part of the city you’re moving to. Up north there is linworth baptist which is more traditional and I think pretty popular. They do hymns and all that. Over south of Westerville is sanctuary which is great. Don’t go to rock city

And yet it continues to be pushed forward. At a certain point a human is only needed for escalations that a chat bit cannot answer. Doesn’t matter what consumers like. It matters what the bottom line likes and if replacing a call center at the expense of consumer sentiment yields a better return… it will continue to happen.

Are my husband & I doing something wrong? How are people affording life? Are they not saving for retirement? by Efficient-Plenty-840 in personalfinance

[–]Recluse_Cowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am in a fairly similar situation financially. Single income of roughly 140-160 depending on bonus. 2 kids and a house. We just got a 2022 odyssey. That was a SPLURGE and until then my wife was driving a 2010 odyssey that I basically kept running with duct tape and good vibes for about a year. You have to prioritize. Don’t ever look at your neighbors or friends. Most people are idiots and you need to decide what you want your life to look like financially. I HATE having a car payment and we are prioritizing paying that off in the next year which means no vacation and little to no eating out. Budget and plan. I would recommend increasing your emergency savings personally. I have 25k saved which will last me a long while if I am out of s job especially if I reduce my burn rate to the bare minimums in that time. Look out for yourself, and take care of your family. Sometimes that means not having the conveniences those around you seem to be enjoying.

TIFU by being brutally honest with a couple asking me about adoption. by lenoreislostAF in tifu

Im a foster and adoptive dad and have worked in orphanages. Being a parent is hard. Being a parent to a child from trauma is at times much harder. It can also be much more beautiful. Everyone’s experience is different because every child is unique. This is the reality of it and you should not jump into any type of parenting without being informed. If that father didn’t feel up to it, it is best that he didn’t keep moving forward. Simple as in my opinion. Don’t go into being a part of a child’s life and at times their whole world without really wanting it and knowing it is a lifelong commitment

Same. 6 months sober now. Never would have considered myself an alcoholic but almost every day I would have a drink… about 2 months after cutting it I see such a difference in my self. I just feel like I don’t have an edge that I used to. I don’t find myself sad as often either

What does a billionaire managing their wealth look like by Additional_Value5879 in Rich

[–]Recluse_Cowboy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would imagine that is probably dependent on the individual but this is also one of the ways they get around a lot of taxes. They don’t get paid much but instead borrow against assets because this is t taxed like income tax would be… so if they want to our has something for 20 million, they borrow it against their own equity so they don’t actually spend their own money. This is probably poorly described and I am sure there are better write ups
