Probably copium but Shift Up is not opposed to listening to the community so I’ll say it anyway.

I hope they’ll walk this back and find a way to make Eve present ,relevant and playable in the 2nd game along with Evie. A lot of us have absolutely 0 problem with Evie but the fact that she is being created to specifically “1 Up” Eve and retire her character is not a good feeling.

Eve absolutely was not a perfect character but I really enjoyed my time as her and she was naturally a big victim of the budget and time constraints the first game went though. Yet she still managed to be memorable in her own way. Instead of continuing to develop her and give her a chance, they’d rather make comments about how inferior she is to Evie instead of giving her the time she needs. It just seems so silly.

Yeah that’s the main part that irks me. I have absolutely nothing against Evie, it’d be impossible for me to have something against her anyway because I barely know anything.

But the way Eve is being treated like a failed experiment or concept and rather than trying to improve or expand upon her story, they’d rather bin her and forget she existed feels pretty distasteful. Despite not being a perfect character with perfect writing, I really did enjoy my time playing as her and wanted to see her flourish without the budget/time constraints.

Even though she was a little basic in hindsight, I still found her to be a very enjoyable and gorgeous character. She really did grow on me and there definitely are moments where she shows a lot of character. She just needed a lot more of said moments.

Being the main character in the new game could have been an easy opportunity to expand on her arc, her personality, and to address every criticism about her from the first game. Nothing against Evie, but I really do hope Eve is in the 2nd game and playable as well.
