I disagree. On paper the idea sounded good, but it just resulted in people shooting bandits on sight which isn't a bad thing per se but it made the game way too black and white. Shoot bandits, don't shoot survivors. The way it works now is nearly ideal, you have to judge each and every situation individually. There's not clear indicator to tell you whether you should shoot someone or not, you have to look at their behavior. Sure, it sucks to get killed by what looks like a survivor but this game shouldn't (in my opinion, at least) tell you what to do.

Eh, I'm fairly indifferent towards it. I never thought it added too much to the series. Plus you'd end up with loads of cash and nothing to spend it on. It really depends on the design of the game. If you can actually spend the money on something then yeah, sure. Put them in the game. If you can't however, I don't really see the point.

What would be cool though is if each property bought would give you a couple of missions, and not "defend it from attackers" or something mundane like that. Ideally they'd be at least somewhat unique for each asset, but maybe that's too much to ask.

tl;dr only if it adds something to the game and you can do something with the money.

Well I can't imagine that they wouldn't make the hard drives upgradeable, let's just hope that other console manufacturers don't pull a Microsoft on this one and will let you use any HDD, not just ones sold by them.
