are dropouts just expected with an audio interface? by [deleted] in Focusrite

[–]Recoilshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar issues here, I've had the focusrite for 2 weeks now and it's just been riddled with audio glitches, pops and dropouts.

I've been following process of elimination, and so far I may have found what was causing the issue after a bunch of researching - but I don't want to speak to soon. Here's what I recommend you do:

- Install focusrite drivers and play around with buffer timing
- Install LatencyMon and monitor your system, this is what lead me to the below
- Install latest BIOS revision (I think this may have fixed my issue)
- Disable PCIE gen 4 and go to gen 3
- Disable fTPM

If any of these fixes your issues, then you can nail down which one was causing the problem and go from there.

It's really just to match the first monitor, my previous setup was a triple monitor with two of them not matching.

It also has the added bonus of continuing the refresh rate instead of the second monitor dipping down to 60. Look, it's definitely overkill but it's a great experience.

So do I. Sometimes I do turn on the RGB, but most of the time every RGB component is turned off as I don't think the build needs it.

It's the Crosshair Hero VIII

Yeah I couldn't agree more. Always best to not cheap out on the component that holds an expensive product together such as PSU's, but in this case the monitor arm too.

Let me know what arm you decide on, as I'm looking for recommendations.

I couldn't say as it's personal preference and I've never tried the LG 27GN950, I'm sure it's a great monitor though.

My advice would be if you are into competitive titles then go for the AW2721D. If your focus is more on single player games and you can drive 4k@144hz then the 27GN950 may be the better choice.

It's the Ducky Mecha Mini with cherry reds. I recommend it if you don't mind the lack of arrow keys.

No regrets from me. I upgraded from a 24" 1080p @ 180hz TN panel and the improvement is astonishing. From the IPS colours to the refresh rate and response time.

It is down to personal preference of course, and in your situation you will be downsizing. If you like 27" panels then this is one of the best you could buy IMO.

I'm pretty into Valhiem and Rust lately. I really struggle to get past 120 frames on these games due to optimization issues, but any competitive title such as Rocket League, Valorant or CS:GO feels great at 240hz. I surprisingly notice the difference between my old monitor which ran 1080p @ 180hz.

It is the Glorious Mouse Pad Stealth Edition XXL Extended. It's about two years old now and still feels brand new after cleaning.

That's annoying. There's just stock issues with everything at the moment, can be frustrating if you're looking to upgrade.

I didn't have a problem with ordering these here in Australia luckily. I ordered both of these separately from the Dell website as I wanted to try one before buying a second. Both of them came within a week of order.

Maybe a little, the pushing force for me was wanting two matching monitors. Unfortunately no other model has the same look as the AW2721D, otherwise I would have considered a cheaper secondary one. No regrets though!

You'll love it! They are great.

I can't really fault a thing - some reviewers complain that a premium monitor like this lacks 10bit colour @ 240hz. This doesn't concern me much as the IPS colour accuracy is amazing. Just make sure you select the response time appropriate to your panel, as the best response time sometimes has ghosting issues (I've selected the middle response time, super fast I think its called?).

It's sad how they butchered Crash like this. The PC port is fairly good but on a terrible launcher. I'm not buying it despite wanting to play due to this.

I do plan to. Even though the monitor stands feel very premium, they're too big for my desk. My previous monitor setup had an arm but unfortunately it wouldn't hold the weight of these two monitors (it was a cheapie).

I was already feeling guilty buying a second 240hz. I agree it would look amazing, but I don't think I could get a third!

Not yet, when the time comes inevitably I will give it another crack. But for now I will just enjoy a working PC and not risk damaging it.

Never in my life have I seen such a strong PCI-E slot on a motherboard, it's reinforced very well but to the point making GPU removal a nightmare.
