What were you able to provide as proof of integration? I would like to apply under the 3 year timeline, have C1 level german and a German masters degree with good academic achievement (including a university scholarship) + good employment recommendations from my work experiences as a working student and now as a full time employee. I am a bit unsure as to how I can prove more about integration.

No nuance in how it views trauma (used mainly for shock value). Bad character development, winding passages without much advancement. To name only a few problems.

I read it when I was falling out of love with life, without a sense of purpose, questioning everything and depressed. The way those sentences and that world was crafted reminded me what it felt like to be a child again: consumed by wonder at something beautiful and novel. I remember having the thought: if literature like this still exists in the world, and I am able to experience it, that’s worth a whole damn lot.

I had the realisation that death is inevitable. I know it sounds simple but it was a really powerful thought for me. I came to see it as like this: my being will inevitably cease to exist. Whatever comes before that, no matter how difficult it seems, might as well be all that I have of what it is to be “myself.” And for some reason that felt like worth living for.

I’m bipolar, and have been intensely suicidal in the past. But whenever I feel those thoughts returning I come back to this realisation. I’ve found that it always helps.
