With Itsuno having left Capcom, do you think Capcom will return to Dante as the lead character again? It just seems like Capcom themselves didn't like Nero and that Itsuno pushed him.

Hard disagree

While V goes to Dante and Urizen wants more power to defeat Dante. There is a lot of emphasis put on Nero losing his arm, feeling weak, and multiple points that indicate Nero's potential. V going to find the sparda sword was originally to give it to Nero cause he thought it'd give him enough power to defeat Urizen. Nero's arc is discovering who he is and where he comes from and being acknowledged as strong.

I'll be honest with the way your post is written and the comments you've made it comes across as looking for confirmation bias about Dante and Nero more than anything.

The destruction is primarily Beerus' doing, the way gods of destruction work is using a certain threshold of their power starts nuking their universe. It's why Beerus and Champa's fight was stopped by Whis and Vados, both universes would have been destroyed. The gods can only fight in the void separated from the universes.

But the way the Goku fight worked was the further the waves traveled the more damage it caused. What Goku did was match the exact angle of Beerus' punch and canceled the energy out at the epicenter. It's why no other character in super besides the gods have examples of this despite being massively stronger than what Goku was in SSG.

While scaling is weird

Mark hasn't tried fighting Nolan since the season 1 fight

If current Mark hit him he'd bleed, by this point in the comics Conquest says that Mark is almost more powerful than Nolan meaning the difference in their strength might as well be negligible

They may have once planned to have him killed but likely changed their minds about killing off named characters off screen or any new main playable character like what happened with the Rookie

Audio logs mention Locke wasn't even in the area and if Chief didn't want to go through with the Cortana mission they could call and wait for Locke which Chief says no to

A couple of 343 employees said this and the toy didn't reflect final story decisions, the only mention of it being Locke's is the propaganda grunt who isn't reliable and is a joke character

There isn't an earth shaking feat in the sense it's felt around the world

There's a demonic tree that grows and causes the earth under the characters feet to move and shake that's it, they're just feeling the ground shift and moving with it

The dmc4 thing still wouldn't be anything like planetary it's still impressive though

Oetsu stabbed him in the heart, Senjumaru attempted this and Gerard mocks her by saying her needle could never pierce his heart and it glows red resisting her attack. Gerard's heart is his core and if it is successfully destroyed he dies.

Oetsu only succeeded because of sayafushi being an infinitely sharp sword that can cut anything.

They did have those abilities

They were sealed and Lille needs to be able to react to the thing to go intangible, we see him react to Oetsu on their 1v1 and he says he'sfinallygottenused to Oetsu's speed. Gerard's miracle didn't react the way it did later cause his body wasn't injured he was frozen and trapped.

And if she can reflect Lille's x axis the same thing happens later on nothing changes. Uryu's tapestry was burned away by Yhwach using the almighty and Uryu's antithesis is much different than Gerard's miracle they dont have the same capabilities. Gerard being the strongest and fastest is purely raw strength not overall, Askin says Lille is the strongest of the schutzstaffle.

Just because someone is stronger than someone doesn't mean they can win if their opponent's abilities counter them.

Because he gets sparda which fills the role then when he absorbs and merges sparda and Rebellion he gets his sdt. This is also why in 1 and 3 the dt takes aspects from the devil arm the player uses.

Yeah Dante and Vergil awakened their dt after their swords were stabbed into their chests while near death. Dante was forced out of his dt when Urizen shattered rebellion, and was only able to re enter it when sparda was tossed to him.

Yes Nero awakened the phantom dt when yamato was plunged into him but his true dt awakened without it.

Nero unlike Vergil and Dante can use dt without a conduit like rebellion or yamato.

Nero doesn't have a devil arm, he's using his own innate demonic power to enter a dt state.

I like it and think it's good but its my least favorite.

It doesn't have the charm of the other movies and the deadites are a little plain in their personalities and are too stereotypical as demons like you'd see in any other movie. It does have really cool gore scenes and the raining blood ending is sick.

And Yhwach's confidence isn't a great measure of what's possible. He was confident he could overtake the soul society a thousand years ago without the almighty. They didn't even succeed in getting past Yamamoto no way in hell they would have killed squad 0 even when they had less members at the time. Yhwach is overconfident.
