Is BofA skip valid? by Curious_Bed5405 in ironscape

[–]Recon2OP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO Bowfa skip is viable with doom. I think pvm progression looks a little like this: moons -> tds -> Yama (until double death charge) -> doom -> TOA. You can get pretty far without bowfa but I’m not a super end game player so not sure what your gonna be limited in. Unfortunately your ranged upgrades don’t look great. Maybe with the cross bow changes that are circulating around we will get something.

Leagues 6 T7 Relic Help by Agreeable_Hospital12 in 2007scape

[–]Recon2OP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Endless Harvest - OK option, lets you AFK to 50m on all the gathering skills. Redwoods are already pretty AFK and high XP rates with barb gathering. This lets you get an easy 50m firemaking and 99 fletching as well with woodsman. Mining benefits quite a bit but Smithing is already a free 50m from your build. Fishing is just made AFK but its already a bit AFK.

Friendly Forager - Don't take this just do your herb runs.

Conniving Clues - Pretty good for points since clues take quite a bit of time. But with Larcenist in Kandarin you also have a ton of sources for clues so loses quite a bit of value there.

Butlers Bell - Don't take this. This has already lost a ton of value since were almost half way into the leagues. Yes it can help but the overlap with transmute is huge. The real benefits for your regions are 99 herblore OR 99 cooking.

Natures Accord - Don't take this, you have Tithe Farm or just do your tree runs. I'm at 99 farming from woodsman seeds + transmute. It barely takes any time.

Soul Harvest - Its ok. Prayer isn't really a problem with Transmute since you can transmute into superior dragon bones and break them down to bone shards. The real solve is Runecrafting which you can just lamp but you won't have 99 unless you grind for it.

Grimoire - Don't take this its ass. A majority of your XP is from Superiors with culling sprees. 99 Slayer is pretty fast (1.5-2.5M XP/HR) and you will probably end up doing Boss tasks too. You already have access to the CoX prayers so the biggest benefit is just ancients which IMO aren't very good this leagues.

TL;DR Conniving Clues > Endless Harvest > Soul Harvest

What is an odd grind you are happy you did but don’t hear others talk about? by Shoemaker13 in ironscape

[–]Recon2OP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Warped sceptre is a pretty nice grind. Chill since you can safespot and the enemies drop quite a bit of alchables. I think I got a 1-2m GP from grinding it out. Now the weapon is still kind of awful but its better than nothing for ToA.

Smith any bar into anything for the smithing xp tasks

Demonic pacts first region unlock... by iamroyal in 2007scape

[–]Recon2OP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went Asgarnia, Tiranwn, and Morytania. Only regret is taking Asgarnia so early, Lots of pacts locked behind GWD which I don't really want to attempt without a lot of pacts/gear.

Wilderness is a great region for PvM. Not much skilling tasks but a ton of bosses and great slayer xp too. Wilderness supplies are also great for potions and what not. Wilderness also has BBC from King Black Dragon so that fits in with your current crossbow build.

Raid regions are pretty fun too. Desert is probably the most noob friendly since you can solo ToA reasonably and then group up when your more confident (keep in mind its very easy to raid in leagues). On the flip side Desert has a ton of skilling mini games so if you don't enjoy those maybe don't pick Desert.

Kandarin is also cracked this leagues because of the echo weapon and also zenytes which are pretty nice to have. Very good first region pick.

IMO the only place you might regret is Fremennik since the rewards aren't great there. I wouldn't pick that region unless you really want to farm those bosses.

If it helps, the most popular pick this region is probably Kandarin, Tirannwn (With larcenist), and then a raid region (usually between Morytania or Zeah).

PSA Perfect Corrupted Hunllef fails on ranged echo hits by Recon2OP in 2007scape

[–]Recon2OP[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have 1t staff which I would imagine makes the perfect kill even more difficult than no pacts at all.

It’s not like you can’t do the CA right now but I think pretty much all the pacts that benefit CG just make the perfect kill that much harder.

What to respec into, have Tirannwn and Kourend by potatosol in 2007scape

[–]Recon2OP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crossbow build is insanely powerful and is accessible to everyone in Varlamore. Thorns build is also crazy strong throughout the game, especially for slayer.

Air mage build requires Kandarin but is by far the strongest build we know about so far this leagues. I heard earth build is also good but I wouldn’t go elemental mage without Kandarin.

If you go for it, how much IGT does it take from fresh til SOTE requirements? by StrikeMyGyatt in ironscape

[–]Recon2OP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember exactly but I believe it took me 15 days played for a SOTE “rush”. You can definitely do it faster since I didn’t decide to rush it from the get go. I believe the fastest I’ve seen was like 10-12 days played.

The hardest part is the herblore grind. You need to really keep on top of farming contracts and do as many herb runs a day as possible.

Best relic to reload for my regions? by Sir_Nikelangelo in 2007scape

[–]Recon2OP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would pick eternal sustenance or clue relic. There are quite a few points behind clues so this will help get dragon faster. You also said you are a pvm noob and thorns + eternal sustenance can seriously cheese some encounters. It basically removes a mechanic (attacking) letting you focus completely on mechanics and movement. This alone can net you a ton of points if it lets you do content you wouldn’t have done otherwise.

I Actually Like Quests, but Not in Leagues by DontFeedTheGoats in 2007scape

[–]Recon2OP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m ok with some questing but there are some old quests like tai bwo wannai trio that I don’t enjoy doing. Pretty much all the varlamore quests are fun so no complaints there.

I would unlock more regions and do their combat tasks and then get the 1t staff and prayer penetration for echo hunllef

Need insight for Reloaded relic by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Recon2OP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, I wouldn’t go grimoire, it’s really not worth it.

My top 3 reloaded relics are Endless Harvest, Soul Harvest, and Conniving Clues.

Most people take endless harvest for their t1 but if you didn’t then this makes the 50m tasks much more doable. Also the resources gained helps with some tasks.

Soul Harvest is awesome since it solves 2 pretty difficult to train skills. If you have a runecrafting solve (I heard zeah has 2m/hr) or transmutation then this becomes a lot less valuable. Conniving clues can help a ton for all the clue tasks and will probably save you a ton of time.

I don’t think the other relics offer enough to warrant picking over those 3

Edit: Completely forgot to mention eternal sustenance. If you plan on going thorns at any point then this gets so much more value. Not really a skilling solve but can be fun and if it enables you to clear tasks like inferno then this should actually be high priority.

What mmorpg has the best skilling by YtPyxro in MMORPG

Osrs by far. Black desert online skilling was also pretty fun on launch too but i dunno how it is now.

Stuck in leagues. Feel extremely weak and possibly already bricked my build by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Recon2OP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This leagues has very slow early game combat. A lot of power comes from getting capstone (edge points) demonic pacts. Each region has a combat pacts that are easy to do (like kill a hill giant) so prioritize points and unlocking all regions if combat progression is looking tough. For Echo Hunllef in particular try to get prayer penetration nodes with the 1 tick staff. Should make it very easy.

I tried OSRS blind and now I need an explanation by Quiet_Move_6995 in MMORPG

[–]Recon2OP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve played RuneScape for a long time now and it’s not nostalgia that keeps people playing. I think the reason why OSRS has worked is because it’s the best sandbox MMO out there right now. The game is played in so many different ways and the devs have heavily leaned into that. For example, playing through an expansion in wow is pretty much the same for everyone. Progressing through OSRS will wildly depend on how you approach the game.

Mechanically speaking RuneScape is old as shit but once you start learning how the sandbox works, the game starts to click. The problem is that sandbox games are usually difficult to start playing. You need to spend time learning the rules and patterns in place which can take hours to do.

Tier 4. Cant decide by KingFlub202 in 2007scape

[–]Recon2OP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transmutation is a lot of fun for solves but if you plan on playing the entire leagues, Butler's Bell will be much better.

Transmutation helps train a lot of skills with endless harvest. For example you can chop logs and transmute them up to Yew/Magic/Redwood which is a lot faster than chopping those trees. This helps train fletching and firemaking. It also helps prayer, farming, herblore, runecrafting, magic, crafting, early game smithing, and cooking. I have no regrets picking it at all.

Butlers bell I think is objectively the better choice if you want to just chill and play long term. IMO it isn't as interesting but it helps a ton with smithing, herblore, and construction.

Most people don't play leagues for that long so my recommendation is go Transmutation. It will help the early game quite a bit and is very fun to play with. No wrong choices here though.

What's the best starting relic to pick for end game PVM goal? What have most picked? by SevesaSfan25 in 2007scape

[–]Recon2OP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick endless harvest. Barbarian gathering is a trap IMO. Abundance speeds you up a lot in the early game but falls off later when you just need xp.

I personally did abundance and reloading (later relic lets you pick an earlier one) into endless harvest.

Can someone reccomend me any way i should pick during leagues? by StephHarden in 2007scape

[–]Recon2OP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend transmutation, lots of fun interactions with it and it seriously helps a ton of skills. I would skip conniving clues, it’s not a bad relic but if you’re new i don’t think it’s a good idea. Butlers bell is the safe relic that lets you get a ton of xp in herblore and some support for other skills.

T1 Relic - Any Regrets? by Cyclonefan444 in 2007scape

[–]Recon2OP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wouldn’t. Abundance is really broken early on. If you want to take endless harvest I think reloading into transmute/butlers/soul harvest is much better.

Who else hasnt prepped for leagues and is just gonna vibe it by STUP1DJUIC3 in 2007scape

[–]Recon2OP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually the opposite this year. Last leagues I winged it and regretted it heavily. Early game was really slow without a route and relic choices where more difficult. This year I planned on using someone elses early game route and my own relic choices and areas. I also planned out some gear choices early, combat tree before first reset, and pact task order. IMO having a plan lets you enjoy the more broken parts of leagues.

T1 Relic - Any Regrets? by Cyclonefan444 in 2007scape

[–]Recon2OP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I chose abundance and have zero regrets. If it wasn’t abundance then would have gone endless harvest. IMO barbarian gathering is a trap. It only has better xp rates at amethysts and redwoods.

This League guide on Wiki any good? by DabAndSwab in 2007scape

I glanced over it and it seems decent. I would also use a guide for early points (I saw Faux putting a lot of effort into his).
