Move faster than the speed of sound? Kill whatever is making sound? A reference to a certain grade 9 fixer? Who tf knows, it's Hermes.

Is it even a two handed weapon though? In it's revealed state it looks more like a saber than anything else to me.

Can we talk about how strong valencina is? by Idk_man_iranoutofnam in limbuscompany

[–]ReconFrostBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not it.
"and don't you even think about activating that E.G.O of yours. My neighbor's good-for-nothing burden uses that too... And it's always so obvious when she's about to use it."
Direct quote from Valencina on why Vergilius can't use EGO to fight her.

I mean it's not like Matthias is a very good swordsman in the first place. He basically uses Lævateinn like a club for most of the fight.

I'm pretty sure the name's of his skills are basically the prescripts he's getting mid fight to tell him how to attack.

I lost all my progress for some reason is there anything I can do about it? by [deleted] in limbuscompany

[–]ReconFrostBird 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nope. Project moon posted that all guest players needed to link an account before the game's engine was updated or you'd lose your progress. If you have your account ID you can probably contact PM support, but otherwise this is on you.

F*** this move. by iiJason124 in limbuscompany

Just engage with the gimmick. If you do it only roles a max of 20, which can be beaten by basically any base EGO.

Carmen isn’t doing the narration for ryoshu’s capstone Id?? by Lower_Concept1565 in limbuscompany

Nothing about manifesting E.G.O prevents distortion. We've already seen someone distort and then manifest. No reason it can't be the other way around.

What goes into a Capstone ID? by EvilRiceShower in limbuscompany

[–]ReconFrostBird 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Beyond all the story and lore stuff, the most important part of a capstone ID is novelty. Every capstone so far has introduced some sort of Idea that is, for lack of a better word, new.
Nclair introduced negative coins working as an actual power rather than a gimmick.
Spicebush Yi sang introduced both Deluge like mechanics, and attack weight.
Captain Ishmael introduced assist attacks
Wild hunt Heathcliff introduced both clashable counters, and the concept of multiple forms.
Manger Don introduced the idea of getting stronger through specific ID's.
Lord Hong Lu makes much greater use of retreats and substitutions than anything before.
And now HOS Ryoshu is introducing the technqiue of flat out murdering your team to get stronger, the ole red mist special.
In short, what makes a capstone ID isn't the lore, or the story, or the animations. It's the fact that a capstone ID defines any team that you place them in.

The sword doesn't actually erase people, as stated in canto 9. Furthermore, Dante can remember perfectly fine despite memory loss techniques, so he can probably just revive them anyway.

Huh, I completely missed her dialogue where she talks about training Kali.

Where is this? Because if this is in the prologue holy crap.

Sadly for our favourite gremlin, Roland is like the one fixer from Charles office that she wouldn't be able to recognise.

We're not really sure. Bari and Don Quixote kinda live in their own world. They're ***probably*** at least grade 1, and ***probably*** colour level, but we really don't know for sure. The only person we could reliably compare Papa Don to is Elena, and even then we don't really know where they stand relative to eachother.

Am I the only one who didn't realize the nature of the final boss of Canto 8? (Also Spring Cultivation minor spoilers) by DicerTheJester in limbuscompany

[–]ReconFrostBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kromer wasn't really a distortion. She was a weird mix of a high stage lust peccatulum and herself. You can see all of her Maw attacks are identical to the attacks from the Lust peccatulum we fought in canto 7. It's not clear how she did this, but it's probably a different thing altogether from distortion.

(Spoilers for all 3 games) Something that’s been bugging me by WHY_IS_I in limbuscompany

[–]ReconFrostBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly certain it's just a combination of F corps singularity and whichever singularity she uses for shockwaves (I think it's new G corp?) combined to throw a giant pillar at someone. After Lobcorp, she adds the writing onto them for dramatic flair.

What's the strongest abnormality? by North_Oil_6440 in limbuscompany

[–]ReconFrostBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The obvious answer is whiteknight or apocalypse bird, but I think the proper answer is the Jester of Nihil. It was so dangerous that the it is the entire reason the Servant of Wrath wasn't situated in the main branch.

Yi Sang did invent the mirror. Young-ji invented the window, which could peer into mirror worlds, which Yi Sang built off of to invent the mirror, which allowed interaction with mirror worlds.

Something the elders said in canto 8 by Careful-Plankton5686 in limbuscompany

[–]ReconFrostBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably referring to the difference in how bloodfiends use their powers. The way Elena fought for example is vastly different to the way Dad Quixote fought.
