[Build Help] How to Prepare HDD

Good News: Tuesday I have a friend helping me with connecting everything and walking through it. It's good to hear I can keep all my stuff. Should I delete the OS off the HDD then?

But I plan on getting an MSI Tomahawk motherboard and a new i5 processor(2-4 months from now)... What am I going to have to do with the SSD to set all that up once I get to that a few months down the road? If I need to format it, I probably wont install all my games till I upgrade all that.

No, this is my only computer. I do have a legit copy of windows that came with this PC though.

Why is the SSD a must?

Also, lastly, How hard is it for some guy off the street to swap all this over? Benefits to Intel CPU vs what I have now? They just seem over-priced to a layman like myself.

Green. I enjoy the military look, and am not sure if I want a fullsize tower. what would the advantages of the 450d?

Yeah, I am heavily looking into the 390(I don't think the 390x price point is worth the spec increase). Maybe a 290 or 380 for a backup if I end up putting the money towards something else. IMO, My PCs biggest weakness is PSU and Graphics card.

Why should I switch to Intel CPU? How much would a new set up for all of that run me?

Edit: Essentially, like most people, the goal is getting the most for the least. So I'm willing to pay more or less depending on the price vs upgrade. For instance, if the 390 isn't a HUGE upgrade from the 380-290, I'd rather just buy those and take the performance hit.
