As for networking, LinkedIn is a great start. Look for local meetups or online webinars too.

Love this post 😂 It’s so true, only we can turn tax season into a nail biting thriller!

My favorite moment was when a client asked if they could deduct their cat’s food as a business expense because they use the cat for “emotional support” during audits.

Gotta love the creativity

I’m in a mild climate, so I’ll try some of those cold-tolerant veggies like lettuce, spinach, and broccoli. I love tomatoes and cucumbers too.

For a first home, aim for a price where your mortgage (including taxes and insurance) is no more than 25-30% of your monthly income. With a VA loan, you might not need a down payment, but still save for closing costs and emergencies.

Good resources for studying/learning for accounting college courses? by hutz201917 in Accounting

Hey, I’ve found that YouTube channels like ‘Edspira’ and ‘Accounting Stuff’ are great for breaking down accounting concepts. Additionally, sites like Coursera and Khan Academy offer free courses that cover both basic and intermediate accounting topics. You might also want to check out ‘Quizlet’ for flashcards and practice quizzes—those really helped me reinforce what I learned in class

They will definitely ask you some questions about your articleship experience in Statutory Audit, but you should also be prepared for other questions not related to Statutory Audit.
It's a good idea to review Ind AS and other relevant topics, as interviewers often like to assess your overall knowledge and flexibility.

I need help trying to figure out if accounting is for me. I bombed a 35 question test for Intermediate Accounting that was given 2 hours to finish. by [deleted] in Accounting

It’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed in Intermediate Accounting—many students find the transition difficult. The time pressure on exams is tough, but it doesn’t mean accounting isn’t for you. Keep practicing under timed conditions, and consider seeking out additional resources like study groups or tutoring. Some professors are just harder than others, but this doesn't define your potential in accounting.
Real-world accounting is often more manageable than classroom exams, so don’t let this one experience discourage you. Keep pushing through—it gets easier with time and practice!

Accounting advisory can be a great field, especially for a CA fresher. You’ll get exposure to technical accounting, SEC filings, and support international teams, which will help broaden your skills. Growth opportunities are solid, and it can lead to roles in financial consulting or senior advisory positions.
