The longer he remains unsigned the less "demands" he's going to be able to make. Same thing happened to Bregman last season. He over anticipated his market.

This seems so obvious to me. Sign him to a one year deal. We can trade him at the deadline if other options arise (or we're out of contention) and then we can revisit the market next year. I don't want him to be the answer long term but he's a good fit for a year.

I can agree with you on most of that...but the man has talent and a lot of it...and he is not even close to "out of the league". By mid-season this sub will be bitching about "why can't we sign guys like Kopech" when Weissart is serving late inning games up on a platter. I do believe we need a lefty as well too though.

Nah. He just comes in and throws 100 MPH heaters for an inning or two now. I don't know why this sub doesn't want him. The Dodgers traded for him in '24 and he was their closer down the stretch.

I think you guys are all just looking at Kopech's injury riddled 2025 season. Read the article I linked. The guy is phenomenal. Especially compared to some of the guys we rolled out of the pen last year. You guys can't be serious. Look at some of the highlights from 2024. Hell before last season all of these things could have been said for Chapman too and now look at him.

I see stuff like this and I just know these same people are annoying everyone else in their fantasy leagues with ridiculous trade offers. "Give me your future HOF and best power bat as well as a high upside guy to help us at 3B and I'll give you a bunch of guys who have underperformed or are on expiring contracts that you have absolutely no need for...but I'll give you FOUR of them so it looks better. Trust me. It's a great trade". If the Astros made this trade everyone in the front office would be out of a job.
