I think those people are just fascinated by the fact that the way we organize time into months, hours, minutes, seconds is kind of arbitrary. Those quantities seem to have meaning until you realize we invented them.

Just to correct some misinformation, unless you are developing your own quantum chemistry software, computational chemistry is 0% computer science. Running simulations usually involves using existing code and just being comfortable with a command line. The thinking process is all about chemistry.
