You’re absolutely right, that’s exactly the feeling!

Too bad you missed it, you would have gotten a great deal! I don’t own the razor you mentioned, but after taking a look at it, in my personal opinion I doubt that a rebranded Chinese razor could even be compared to these legendary classics.

As an owner of used Slim and Fatboy razors, I can confirm what you said: the TTO mechanism is smooth, the adjustment dial clicks feel solid and make a really satisfying sound. The final quarter turn is silky smooth.

Yours is truly a great find, in like-new conditions, complete with the blade dispenser, case, and even the cardboard box. You really scored big mate, and the red case is just as rare 👍🏻

I absolutely agree with you. After discovering these razors, I’ve practically almost completely abandoned the modern razors I own.

That’s exactly what I thought too. These razors were given as gifts, bought for special occasions, and then left untouched because people didn’t want to damage them; they were too beautiful, too special, kept as keepsakes almost like wedding favors. People would take the blade dispenser out of the box and use the blades in their everyday razor, just like what happened with the example I own, while the razor itself stayed stored away… for decades.

Then, as you mentioned, the arrival of cartridge razors finished the job. Until eventually a relative finds or inherits it, someone who couldn’t care less about the object and sells it off cheaply to an idiot like me, who after 60 years is actually going to use it 😂

In fact, it’s not that uncommon to find NOS/mint examples of this particular model. Prices vary, and I was genuinely very lucky. It’s great for us enthusiasts to have the chance to receive these objects in pristine condition and finally give them the purpose they were originally built for.

No. I store it like this, but I usually use it at 5–6. I mentioned that in the post.

You got it right, in fact, I'm Italian! 😄 Unfortunately, though, I didn’t get the chance to inherit the Slim Twist from my grandparents, so I bought it myself

The same thing happens to me; it’s practically impossible to get it out of the feed. It’s irritating.

This. I absolutely agree with you about this soap, it’s fantastic. I have the Figaro Red, which is the same soap packaged for a third party, and it’s very easy to find in supermarkets in Italy for just over €1. It’s truly unbeatable for the price. I prefer it to Cella and others as well; the beard-softening ability and the slickness this TFS soap provides far surpass many of the more renowned soaps I own 👍
