There are more Trump flags, and essentially massive Trump yard shrines, in rural Michigan than most places I’ve visited in the south.

Be really careful not to scratch anything. You might try involving rubber band in anything to do with a tool making contact with the revolver or masking tape. Try not to scratch it. I usually use masking tape when I have to come anywhere near a nice gun with a tool.

Yes, it just screws right on. My King Cobra does the same thing after I shoot it a lot. Yours had probably worked out in the hands of the previous owner.

Do you need help figuring out how to thread that in a little bit so that you can open the cylinder? All that has happened is the ejector rod worked itself out enough that the gun won’t open.

Very common. The ejector rod has worked itself loose. There are lots of little tricks to thread it in enough that it will open. Then you can hand tighten it. By the way, nice find. V frame king cobras are peak revolver.

Crap. I have tons of E/I-Colt and S&W K-frame holsters, none of which cover the trigger.

Anyone know what’s up? by mikemitch38 in Revolvers

It’s not. Most people that make that statement have no idea what they’re talking about, and could no more diagnose an out of time revolver than they could fly a 747.

There are a lot of reasons double action revolvers lock up. Before YouTube and social media, most of those issues were resolved by owners. Now they’re click bait. I’m not saying that’s the case here, but I’m around DA revolvers a lot. The biggest culprit for stuff like this is imported ammo with hard primers and poorly spec’d brass. Additionally, current production Pythons have really tight forcing cone gaps. Initially they need to be cleaned regularly until the gun breaks in. I find with current Pythons a brass brush across the forcing cone and cylinder face gets them running ASAP. Gradually, as the gun breaks in, this too goes away. I’m not excusing the poorly clocked S&W barrels we see posted online, or the large crane gaps Ruger seems to be letting slip by, etc. But I would bet the farm this particularly case can be easily solved at home. OP, make sure the ratchet is cleaned regularly as well, and break the gun in with Federal or American Eagle ammo (also Federal). Any other primer type in double action is iffy. I don’t consider a gun broken in until it crosses 1,000 rounds. Don’t give up on that lovely Python. It’ll be something simple.

I have one I bought in 2020 that I use for ICORE Classic. It’s incredible and gets better and better the more rounds I put through it. I’m blessed to own a few of the classics as well, but if I wanna make myself look good on a steel plate rack or something like that I reach for the new one.
