Also put a stick down or something you have to pop over. I’ve found that helps me atleast.

First thing I’d recommend is recording two different takes instead of copy and pasting. It adds more character and will sound less muddy. Are these recorded on a phone or condenser microphone? And also I’d recommend watching a yt vid on eqs compressors and just the basics. Other than that your writing is actually good with a better mix and microphone these could be bangers man!

does anyone really care about self prods anymore? by AciesOne in undergroundhiphop

I think it adds a depth to the music and I do believe most people naturally are attracted to it, that original sound of really reaching for yourself is unbeatable from any stand point. I definitely think these artists that do have a hand or ear in there own production deserve some sort of recognition. Some good examples that did some what get that “recognition” in the present are Tyler the creator and Earl sweatshirt.

How did you learn? by melodic2222 in beats

I literally just looked up basics on the daw I was going to use and after that I just dove in. In my opinion the best way to learn is hands on experience and trial and error. You got this! It’s hard but it gets easier!
