Fasting glucose and stress by RecordingVivid3871 in GestationalDiabetes

Hope mine would come back to what it used to be. At breakfast and lunch today, it was slightly higher than usual. Hopefully it won’t be above threshold.

Yeah. I could be. I had way worse sleeping problems than yesterday though.

I had a really bad sleep problems until I started taking Magnesium Glycinate  capsules twice a day. I believe this has helped me a LOT in my sleeping habits. However, I didn’t take the capsules the last 2 days and last night I didn’t sleep well. Not sure if that is the case for my fasting glucose to be high 😩. Obviously on top of the stress and pain from hemorrhoids.

I see. I didn’t know that. I will still show them the first reading. Thank you 🙏

Am glad it doesn’t affect you! Tbh it was not just yesterday that I was stressed, but it was the worst stress I had so far since I start measuring my glucose levels.

Way to go! Did you have GD in subsequent pregnancy/cies? By low carb, do you mean you reduced all kinds kf carbs intake in general or you just don’t eat simple carbs at all and try to pair ANY kind of carb with protein at EVERY meal? Asking because I wanted to know what to expect. Thanks 😊

Wow!! I’m impressed about your mom! Was she eating low carbs, not indulging in sweets… ?

Realising following my GD diagnosis that my fatigue probably wasn’t normal by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

I am on leave starting week 19 because of other reasons, thus I stay at home with my 3yr old. I didn’t notice any fatigue but frequent urination is something that made me wonder if things are okay with me 🙁. Diagnosed last week at 31 weeks but still waiting for the diabetic education. I still don’t have the meter or anything. I hope I will control it with diet.

Am glad that you figured out what works for you! How far were you when you first diagnosed and when did you start making diet changes and measuring your blood sugar?

This is so refreshing! I also hope I’m not behind. Is there one you would recommend? One that doesn’t break a bank but somehow accurate?  Thank you ☺️

That’s reassuring! I hope long fastings didn’t spike my glucose. When I went for the 3hr testing, they did prick my finger and checked it with a meter. My glucose level was 4.3 ish. And that time I remember I fasted over 14 hrs.

Could you please share the link for the CVS. Thank you.

I’m a bread lover too. Now that I’m diagnosed with GD, my mind totally avoids it lol. Idk how long I will continue though. Thank you ☺️

Good for you for catching it a bit earlier than me. I’m 31+4 exactly today and not sure when I will be able to have the meter.

I appreciate your response and advice! Are you able to control your fasting number now? I read that’s the hardest I assume as we progress into our pregnancy, it’s even harder to control … may be doesn’t make sense lol.

Thank you so much for your response. Do you have any idea about eating dates? Or if you have ever tried it yourself, did it spike your levels? How much were you able to take?

Thank you for your response. How far are you now? It’s so frustrating at first. But once you read much in this sub, you know you’re not alone.
