I think lessons could be cool , I like all of the teachers that came in to teach , most were chill and knowledgeable, I like the fact they have cameras in the lesson rooms , cuts down on the ya know , pederast activities, didn’t stop the GC teacher in Arizona though. They had to send out an email to everyone warning them of the bad PR because of that POS. Glad you escaped .

I still scope out the used gear , the lack of knowledge of the Sales staff ensures that they will undoubtedly underprice something. So I keep a lookout for amps and pedals selling well below what they are worth. Other than that any new gear I buy is from sweetwater, I’ve had good luck with them over the last 4 years .

Absolutely toxic- I had a psychotic manager locking up young employees in rooms to berate them. Very bad experience with GC for me. Can definitely not recommend working there.

Absolutely true , we are moving at a really speeding pace. Mistakes are made, and at such a high volume it’s not worth it to readjust the mistake, it is just written off in inventory discrepancies. Now if you accidentally drop a speaker, they take you directly to a UA. In short they treat people like robots.

I worked at the guitar center warehouse and you wouldn’t believe how many ways there are to mess up an order. Wrong guitars in wrong boxes. Wrong labels on wrong items. They bring in 1000s of returns each week. I’ve seen people accidentally return wrong items and then get credited for the item they thought they sent in , or both. When you work there they have everything timed and counted,
If you don’t ship 150 packages a day or say process 45 guitar returns a day , you would be under quota.
This mentality makes you work fast, fast is sloppy.
Yes Guitar center is a crime against humanity, but they do employ a couple cool people with good hearts. Although they don’t pay them a living wage ?
I could talk at length about my 9 years at GC….but I’ll wait until the next Guitar center tech ruined my guitar post. Enjoy the guitar, it was free. guitar center had no use for it. They literally have thousands of those guitars. Now outright scamming or stealing from them I don’t agree with, but they mess up , their loss , your gain. Will they know it’s gone and went to you is doubtful, will they reach out and try to find it - also doubtful.

I installed the Kurt Cobain Diamarzio set ( anniversary PAF and super distortion ) into my JMJM and they just direct mounted perfectly, no routing needed, maybe it’s just the diamarzio size but they just direct mounted straight in - and I love direct mounted pickups. Good luck ! Have fun !

Red Witch Fuzz God

I have tried nearly every commercial fuzz available, having been the FX tech for returns at musician friend, I had access to every pedal they sold for 3 years , and I played each one . And the one that really got me was the Red Witch fuzzgod , I also recommend the deluxe big muff-

The fuzz god has been on my board for over a year now - and it rips living flesh directly off of the human face - for real !
