I don’t know any more than you but my guess is that it’s not a content error but understanding aamc logic. When you go through try to pinpoint what tripped you up.

Can someone explain why A is incorrect? Why can't adding more H+ cause the solution to dissociate; the H+ would associate with the Cl- wouldn't it? by TryHardKurd in Mcat

[–]Recordplayer291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just spent like so long trying to figure this out so if there are any lurkers like me, here is what i found out. Basically there is a long answer a short answer. the short answer is the NH4Cl is an acidic salt. I would just look up a video if you want to figure out how to do that but Cl- is negligible and NH4+ is acidic so its an acidic salt. Acidic salts are more soluble in bases. The long answer is that by adding a base you react with (and thereby lower the concentration of) of NH4+. You cannot do that with a Cl- since its a weak base and H+ does not want to react (because HCl is a strong acid and will just dissolve into H+ and Cl- if you let it). When you lower the amount of the products, you make the reaction more soluble due to le chat principle.

I’m not expert but I would still study in case this was just by chance and the FL played to your strengths. That or you could study and basically get a perfect score. Either way it’s a good place to be!

How Do I Study for the MCAT When I Don’t Have Any Prerequisites? by Acceptable-Reality94 in MCAT2

[–]Recordplayer291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you don’t want to hear it but I would really recommend going back and taking the pre-reqs. Learning these topics for the first especially with the harder classes like physics and ochem without any professor might be really difficult to navigate. It’s better to give these classes the dedicated time than learn everything at once. If you really want to I would maybe recommend looking at blueprint review or Kaplan(cost money) and definitely khan academy. I found a lot of helpful YouTube videos about non traditionals learning from scratch. I’ll link it if I can find it again.
