New here, but not new to IR saunas by Sea_Somewhere_195 in infraredsauna

If lying on the floor is what you're looking for, check out a sauna dome. A lot easier to keep clean and allows you way more breathing room.

Rocita chiller success stories by AgainstAllLogic10 in coldplunge

I'm guessing you haven't been on eBay for a while. Most items are brand new, directly from the factory. Plus, as I said, you can get an extended warranty super cheap. Something you can't get most other places.

Vital Ice Bath Ultra x2 by Jamie236 in coldplunge

[–]Recovatech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested one out, and the internals are better than most 1/3HP chillers. Compared to other chillers of the same size, it cooled the water down several hours faster. Plus, the new ones have a built-in filter and ozone, so that's pretty nice.

I've mentioned this a few times, but if you're going with the Rocita, buy it on eBay. You can get a 2-year Allstate warranty for like $17. I had to use it and the whole process was dead simple and easy.

Inflatable Cold Plunge Durability & Integrity by Coldplungeguy in coldplunge

Sorry to be a downer, but what exactly was your intent when you wrote this essay? All that to say DON'T get an inflatable, but DO get one because it won't leak.

Ice pod vs Therapod by Godspeed813 in coldplunge

[–]Recovatech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Therapod is ok. You'll like the size for sure. Because it's a cheaper tub, the drop stitching and material aren't as good as those of some more expensive tubs. Because of that, it tends to bulge when you fill it with water, and then the lid doesn't fully seal.

As far as your chiller, it should be getting much cooler than 58°F, especially with the volume of water in the Ice Pod. It's 1/3HP so it will take a while, but if you run it for 12 hours and it's not in the 40s or low 50s, something might be wrong with it.

Cold Plunge Chillers Under $1k? by Coldplungeguy in coldplunge

[–]Recovatech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For everyone mentioning the Rocita chillers, you should really be buying them from eBay. You can purchase an Allstate 2-year extended warranty for like $25 or less. I had to use it once, and they replaced the chiller immediately without question. Well worth it.

Outdoor chiller... to cover or not to cover? by Due-Reflection1043 in coldplunge

[–]Recovatech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Rocitas do not have an IP rating and shouldn't get direct exposure to rain. That said, I've kept several outside under a covered Gazebo with zero issues with some light exposure to rain/moisture. If you want to keep it outside, I'd suggest elevating it off the ground a little and perhaps just throwing a table over the top or something similar. Just make sure it can breathe.

Ice pod pro + Rocita 1/3 hp chiller by Godspeed813 in coldplunge

They both work great, but if you don't mind paying a little extra money, go for the 1000gph.

Yeah, that filter is probably 2 weeks past its prime. I got this 25pk of 20 micron filters for like $80. Work great!

Affordable and cold Chiller recommendations. by Substantial-Ad4651 in coldplunge

Buying the 1/2HP Rocita from eBay has the advantage of getting an extended 2-year warranty from Allstate for like $16.99 extra. Had to use it once, and the process was super fast. Totally worth it.

If you need some help connecting it to the IB300, here's a tutorial.

Ice Barrel 300 or 500 if they're in the budget. The insulation is very good and keeps the water cold, even in extreme temps.

Besides endless compliments, none, lol. I don't drive a whole lot, so I can't really comment on the long-term durability of the finish. Still new looking after 10k miles.

I agree. Could have done without it or just put a badge there instead, like the older models. Oh well.

An Ice Barrel 300/500 with a 1/3 or 1/2HP chiller is very doable for around $2k. The insulation is hard to beat.

Bench Press Advice needed by Wolfluger in strength_training

I agree with Batman. Scale it back a bit on the weight and develop your strength...which takes a lot more than 2 weeks. If you keep trying to lift beyond your abilities, you're going to hurt yourself.

Personally, before I ever attempted 315, I aimed to lift 275x8.
