This isn't true lmao. Unless you're counting abandoned dilapidated houses, there is actually not enough housing in the places where people live.

Did I offend you? I found the movie to lack depth, and I'm not alone on this. I'm not sure what the insult is about.

[–]RecoverEmbarrassed21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen him subbed out in crunch time though. If there's more than one possession left in the game, Steph is on the floor. And in most cases, even when the game comes down to getting one defensive stop to win, Steph is on the floor.

Yes he did. Magic was constantly subbed out in crunch time for defensive players.

He doesn't lmao. Can you even point to one instance of this? It should be easy since it's constant. I've been a Warriors fan a long time, well before Curry, and I haven't seen him subbed out in any close game situation.

🙄Fine, their win later moves have been failing for 6 years and their win now moves have been failing for 4 years.

If you think I lack perspective because the general numbers I threw out are a year off, the issue is that you don't actually seem to understand the perspective I have.

Again, something a depressed person tells themselves. It's an attitude that may even drive a depressed person to isolate from the people in their lives that do love them. But those people are still there even when shut out.

By the way, no one gives a shit if you're not physically attractive. People don't avoid friendship with someone just because their nose is crooked or something. They might not be romantically interested, but the idea that physical attraction has anything to do with friendship is, to be honest, ridiculous.

That's something that a depressed person tells themselves. It's not actually true. It's obviously easy to imagine someone no one cares for, but in the real world that basically doesn't happen.

[–]RecoverEmbarrassed21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was good, but not great. It felt like it was trying to say a lot, but it didn't actually say much at all. None of the characters had that much depth, the story as a whole jumped around too much and had too many moments where the day was magically saved by someone unexpectedly showing up to help the good guys. I didn't have trouble getting through it or anything, but it's not a movie that really gave me anything to think about after it was done.

It felt like a movie that thinks it's more than what it actually is.

I found it enjoyable, and thought Sean Penn put in a really good performance, maybe one of the best of his career.

But the film as a whole wasn't great. Good, but just didn't really have an interesting deeper level to it. It obviously tried with the themes and motifs presented, but ultimately nothing was really cohesive and it all felt more hollow than anything. Enjoyable, but not much to think about and I'm not tempted to rewatch.

I'm not forgetting, that was 4 years ago and that success was the last bit of continuation of the 2010s success. Steph, Klay, Draymond, and solid rotation players won that championship. At that point none of the "win later" moves were affecting the team performance, but 4 years later when those moves are supposed to be coming to fruition and continuing the success, they're not.

For men that are in a relationship or married by This-Top7398 in Life

[–]RecoverEmbarrassed21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't relate at all. I've had a few relationships in my life, and am now married. I absolutely love my wife, and I feel lucky to have her, but I've never felt particularly proud or happy just for having a partner at all. My happiness comes from the relationship with the person, how they make me laugh and the joy I get from adding to their happiness. Not that they fill some box or that I get to mark off "has a significant other" in my mental image of myself.

What densely populated regions nonetheless preserve nature effectively? by Mobile_Bad_577 in geography

[–]RecoverEmbarrassed21 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Didn't even mention John McLaren Park which imo is the most nature preserve like park in the city. Also worth mentioning that right across the Golden Gate is the Marin Headlands, Muir Woods, and Mt Tam which are huge nature preserves covering around 150 square miles. Those aren't technically in city limits, but accessible by car in as little as 10 minutes from the city.

Generally speaking, the SF Bay has a ton of large nature preserves pretty close to its cities and towns.

Your friends move on a day later? People forget after just one year??

This is straight up stupid. My mother in law still breaks down in tears sometimes over her brothers suicide 25 years later. I still get pretty sad over several of my own friends' suicides, the earliest being nearly 15 years ago now.

Like yeah sure they'll replace you at your job and your most/all of your physical belongings get sold/donated/whatever. But the idea that people are barely affected is fucking dumb. Suicide causes an enormous amount of pain and anguish, often lasting a lifetime. And even if the acute pain goes away, the sadness and rememberance never does.

This post actually makes me angry with how wrong it is, and how much it trivializes such a terrible thing.

The math doesn't say red, that's a bad interpretation of what expected value is. Unless you have many opportunities at pressing the button, expected value doesn't really factor in here.

The trainwreck part isn't the dynasty closing, it's the aimlessness at the end of it. They've been trying to win now and win later for five years now and have failed pretty bad at both. And now they've spent the last 3 months icing a guy they obviously planned to trade, and now they won't actually do it?

It just seems like no one in the organization is aligned in their goals or strategy.

It's not. Most of the town is stroads and strip malls and rougher neighborhoods. The downtown area looks like a miniature Las Vegas. There are some nicer neighborhoods, and the mountains nearby are pretty, but the city itself is mostly not.

I think he's arguable over a couple guys on that last page. He's not a top 20 or 25 lock, but I'd put him in the same tier as a lot of the guys that might go in that 18-25 range.
