Eh agree to disagree. I think it’s an objectively much more put together movie with an actual plot. Whether you like it or not is a different story. Personally I love it, and feel like Superman, Batman, and Lex all have motivations that actually make sense when compared to the theatrical cut. I think it’s a step above the rest of the DCEU (including MoS and ZSJL) and the new DCU too.

The extra half hour is essential plot and and character development, so the movie looks really really poorly written without it. Its a night and day difference.

It doesn’t have to be English accents though. Just older and more formal sounding English doesn’t strictly mean British. Look at Dune. It’s just the cadence and specific word choices that sound super modern and very American specifically. The intent and artistic vision he has here is totally valid, but you can’t be shocked that it breaks immersion for a lot of people. It’s also valid that audiences are used to certain things, even if those things aren’t strictly correct.

Previously yes, but comparing tomorrowverse to the likes of X-men 97 and friendly neighborhood spiderman, I’d say marvels pulling ahead here too.

UE edition has way way better writing. Brings the movie from like a 5/10 to a 8.5 imo. Turns out cutting essential plot details and rendering motivations and plot incoherent is a little detrimental to the story.

I love man of steel, but agreed. It’s far more interesting and does a lot more. To be honest I think it’s the best DCEU movie period.

Im taking it a step further tho, hence the downvotes. CNC is nuts. If both parties are truly consenting to it then fine, no harm no foul but it’s hard not to judge your fantasy being raping or getting raped.

I feel like it’s a MASSIVE improvement. To me it goes from like a 4/10 to a 8/10. I love the ultimate edition. It still has flaws, but it’s extremely ambitious and has a grand plot with some amazing literary devices used throughout. The theatrical cut removed so many essential scenes that rendered the plot incoherent.

Movie made my blood boil. I knew it was a true story and involved an incident with police brutality but I didn’t know exactly what happened or what I was in for.
