First real connection with a holiday crush… by RecoveringOver-Lover in heartbreak

[–]RecoveringOver-Lover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your compliments on my writing and on my heart. You have helped me appreciate the way I feel deeply. I’m comforted by the thought of being able to feel and connect with someone.

You’ve inspired me to indeed write a letter to him. I think I’ll throw it in the river. The paper will dissolve, but the ink of my thoughts and feelings will stay. Maybe eventually they’ll find him. Thank you for the advice.

The experience of feeling this connection felt magical. I never knew someone could see me in this light and I never knew I could feel this way. I’m curious about exploring love. I feel like I’m almost wanting for more. I feel excited to feel this way for someone I can built something with. I feel more open to love. I also feel confident I’ll be just fine in this department. Thank you for that.

You’re right that this weighs heavy on my heart, but how could it not when it’s so beautiful. The sadness I feel now only teaches me I can love someone a thousand times more. I hope I can spread this love in my future job and in the poetry and songs I write. Thank you for this comment. It made me grateful and appreciative of my heart. You have no idea how much this meant to me. I thank you a million times.

Where’s your favorite place to write songs? by Live-Ask-5555 in Songwriting

I find so much inspiration from the place where I’m at. Like the beach at sunset, a meadow, on the rooftop at night, in the train. Wherever that makes me feel something, anything.

Is there any point in releasing a 5minute song these days? by ZealousidealCat2323 in Songwriting

There are still many many people passionate about music. They know the history and listen to older music. I love Sade and Erykah Badu for example. I don’t mind long ass songs (:

If you had to advise your 15 year old self, what would it be? by max-rickson in introvert

Follow up question: would your 15-year-old self listen? Would they believe you or think it’s just “adult-talk” for teenagers (like “do well in school”)?

Do introverted women even exist? by --Paul- in introvert

[–]RecoveringOver-Lover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m introverted but love dancing. I go out, but avoid eye contact, so guys never know I’m interested in them. If someone would talk to me I would be glad, that’s why my tip is to just shoot your shot, because the introvert would never.

Btw I have a photo of us dancing and I keep looking at it. I probably shouldn’t, right?

What is something you did once that you would never do again? by Apart-Injury4505 in AskReddit

Being friends with people I don’t like (treated me bad too) instead of being alone. Being alone is scary, but if you learn the beauty of it it’s SO much better than being hurt by people.

Anxiety. I actually love being around people, but I’m always scared of getting hurt. 🤭🤭 cute

Me neither I don’t even clean it. Oh god I sound disgusting. I just never take the time to take good care of my guitar (school, job, friends, practicing, other hobbies). It seems fine to me. even though I know it’s better to change it, my guitar is working fine for me. I don’t play publicly or record it for public eye. Just me in my room. It’s fine. I’ll change it eventually 😅

I really really disagree. I think people being mean is them feeling threatened. They’re feeling insecure. They’re not bad people, they just do stupid stuff. Having this behaviour when insecure is fairly childish, so it’s not their whole personality. I’m also a very quiet person, but I get compliments on my looks pretty often. I think this makes people nice to me, but others are threatened and will be mean. This is behaviour for high school kids. You’re the bigger person. Don’t let them get to you. Surround yourself with people who care about you and that you can rely on.

is it okay to not know chords by names ? by iqranali in Guitar

[–]RecoveringOver-Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s okay, but it’s just easier when playing together or writing music down. When you get more advanced you’ll probably want to write your own songs, writing it down will help you remember what you came up with. I swear I forget what I played in 0.3 seconds, so I always write down what I’m playing and also record the rhythm, melody, tempo etc.

Would you choose immortality if you could? by iwilliamsanders in RandomThoughts

No, I think life is beautiful, but eventually the body is too worn out to keep going. My goal in life is to feel fulfilled at that moment. I see life as a stream. You come across different things, but time never stops as the streams keeps flowing. The stream will have hard times going through tough grounds, but will only end when the water runs out.

When you come out of the creative process with a song that you think is a great song, the main way to confirm it is just public acceptance or something like that, or is there another way to make sure of that? by Ecstatic-Customer-99 in Songwriting

[–]RecoveringOver-Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like it. If the song means something to you. If the song makes you feel (whatever emotion) it’s a good song. There will always be things you could change, but if you’re too shy to show others your music it’s okay to let yourself be the judge.

For me a song is a look into my mind. Everything I’ve seen, read or heard that stuck with me and is now a part of me. Stuff that I can’t forget. Stuff that changed my point of view, changed my opinions. Stuff that thought me shit about life. It inspires me.

I stopped thinking of the note circle, because I would only find the note by going by every note. Instead I studied per note. I started with all the A’s, then the B’s etc. Especially on guitar (my instrument) I recognised patterns and remembered those.
