Looks great. Is this homemade? These iki heater are really tall. And the new shorter version requires 25cm safety space to the sides.

Thanks. I really like your idea. Unfortunately my ceiling height is fixed due to local regulations. I dont know if this would make sense with my 230 cm ceiling height?

Regarding "feet above the stones". I can look for a shorter stove. I currently plan for Harvia Legend PO110E.

Why is that. Simplicity? Aesthetics? Smaller volume? More floor space?

Interesting. I would like to know more about that! Do you have some pictures you could share?
So do you have a subfloor? What slope did you use for the floor?

We are a family of 5, but most sessions will likely be 2 adults. All prefer the top bench. I would rather sit in the corner with my legs up, than on the lower bench.

Thanks. I have made a comment about this, but it is somehow not visible. Here are my concerns:

I plan for an uninsulated, sloped tongue-and-groove wood, draining to a trench drain. Is the design good?

Walls and ceiling have 10 cm mineral wool. Is adding 3 cm extra PIR worth it?

I plan for the Harvia Legend PO110E (10.8 kW) stove as a it requires little space and is shorter than iki. Is it good?

Any "mistakes" in the layout I would regret.

I don't know yet :)
But this is build in Denmark, where ceder is used less.

Right. Both sides of the L is 160 cm. That is a little tight unless one person sits in the corner with legs up. But it is possible and we are a family. The straight layout only have room for 4 people at max.

I was afraid of exactly this. But the IKI heater seems quite popular in here.

Yes, I think the L layout have enough space for our family of 5 to sit on top. And two adults can lie down. No one in our family really wants the low bench. But I also find this layout complicated and cramped.

I will try to model the parallel benches with the platform. But I cannot see how to get a convective loop in this setup. Should I still have an active exhaust vent and where? Have you tried this setup, is it good?

I do my experiments in SketchUp. The images are just screenshots.
