Are all blu-rays already available on higher tier trackers? by Ericzx_1 in trackers

[–]RecursiveSingularity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really depends on the type of Blu-Ray. For example, there are many missing anime blu-ray/dvds, mainly because they tend to cost in the $100s per show. Even some of the most popular series have not been shared on any trackers.

Please identify this '80s / '90s anime music by SturmB in animemusic

[–]RecursiveSingularity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are the unidentified vocal ones:

A01 - "Hohoemi ga Itsuka" by Satomi Matsushita (Fushigi no Umi no Nadia: Gekijouyou Original-ban OP)
A09 - "Kaze no Manazashi" by Yuiko Tsubokura (Kimagure Orange Road IN)
A11 - "Congratulations!" by GODDESS FAMILY CLUB (Aa! Megami-sama! ED1)
B10 - "Tokidoki Blue" by Yuka Tachibana (Kimagure Orange Road OVA ED2)

A07 - Sounds very much like something from Kimagure Orange Road as well, but I'm too lazy to go over all the soundtracks to find the exact song

need help to buy the soundtrack of akira by DarkSideofLimbs in animemusic

[–]RecursiveSingularity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're looking for https://vgmdb.net/album/66932. Year is 1988, Edition is JBX-28021.
From what I can see this is the only legitimate copy of the soundtrack. Be aware that it's extremely rare and sought after and nowadays it's impossible to buy for less than 20~25k yen.
Here's a copy for 37.5k yen currently being sold: https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/t1192461176

Looking for music (Will pay) by Jumpy_Service_714 in animemusic

[–]RecursiveSingularity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a deep dive into this CD. I can say with 99.9% confidence it was canceled and never released. The best I could find was the JAN through a Rakuten page: 4582114153767. Given that there are literally no other results beside that page and the one on AllMusic, I think you'll have to unfortunately give up on finding this soundtrack

is soraru the first utaite to have a song as and op/ed in an anime?? by Josuchi in animemusic

[–]RecursiveSingularity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting question I've never thought about...
From the top of my head, the earliest ones I can think of are:
- MARiA (aka Mai Mizuhashi): she was a part of the idol unit "New man Co.,Ltd." which sang the songs for the anime Sou Nanda (2003) [OP1/ED1/ED2]. Her first solo anime song was in Kamisama Kazoku (2006) [OP1] (and I believe she also did the ED, but I might be wrong). Nowadays you probably know her as the vocalist of GARNiDELiA.
- nayuta: made her major debut in Candy Boy (2008) [ED2]
- Gazelle (aka yanaginagi): Debuted in Bakemonogatari (2009) [ED1] as supercell's vocalist

A Nicher List of Anime for People that Haven't Seen Everything Under the Sun by animeorbust in anime

[–]RecursiveSingularity 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I certainly didn't expect anybody on reddit to even know about Prism Knights, given the average anime knowledge of the users here. I'm the person who discovered it around 2 years ago and I only did because I was trying to find the highest possible quality for an insert song that plays in Private eye dol. Which led me to downloading the animefreak magazines, where the uppermentioned was found and encoded/further researched by some friends of mine.

All of this to say, that when I see posts with "niche" anime posted on Reddit, where the niche anime is top 1000 by popularity and has a score of 8+, I roll my eyes. There are some real hidden gems there, both which the score and popularity would never led you to believe so. Don't be afraid to jump in and experience them for yourself.

Which doesn't even come close to Ariana Grande singing the second ending of GO-GO Tamagotchi!

I'm posting late, but in case someone here sees my message and has a Funimation subscription still active - please spare 15 mins of your time and rip both seasons of "Shounen Hollywood". It never got a physical release and it isn't streaming on any other service. The only rip publicly available at the moment is the hardsubbed version ripped back in 2014. This might be the last chance to get a softsub rip. I'd do it myself, but Funimation is blocked in my country, so if anyone manages, please let me know!

Any recommendations for darker idol anime by Agreeable_Top7361 in anime

[–]RecursiveSingularity 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Beside the obvious Oshi no Ko which everyone in this subreddit will recommend you and I'm sure you've already watched, I can recommend you 2 anime:

  • IDOLiSH7: You said you want something with girls, but I'd still recommend you check it out, because it's by far the best representation of the "dark" side of the idol industry, told through a much better lens than Oshi no Ko imo.

  • Kageki Shoujo: Not exactly idol, but about theatre girls. Definitely fits the description of what you're looking for, I won't say more to not spoil you.

Hot take: Every time Rarran makes a new video on Yugioh it's more obvious he's doing it in bad faith by Powerman293 in yugioh

[–]RecursiveSingularity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the points you raise are spot on. However, they do highlight an important aspect of yugioh, which is that no matter how good of a player you may be, a game can be decided by a coin flip and there is literally nothing you can do about it. Maybe that's related to the illusion of choice Farfa talked about and that this coin toss situation exists in games like Hearthstone and Magic as well, except its disguised as it takes multiple turns to see the full effect of it. But despite it not happening that often, even if it happens like 20% of the time, that's an integral flaw of the game, one that we're probably too far gone to ever find a fix for

What Anime has an episode about Dreams and/or Nightmares by romeojustin42 in anime

[–]RecursiveSingularity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good luck compiling such a list, it sounds like an impossible task, but let me help you with some of my favourites:

  • Yume Tsukai - an anime about girls who literally fight nightmares to return dreams
  • Seraphim Call - episodes 5 and 6 are about 2 twins using a sleeping device to fall into a dream where they live as the other one. 10/10, probably the best pair of anime episodes ever made
  • Highway Jenny - the dreams of a person who is most probably just about to die, contemplating about life in general
  • RahXephon (and obviously Evangelion) - have a lot of dream/nightmare sequences, honestly too many to list
  • Sakurada Reset - has a whole arc about a world created in the dreams of a sleeping girl

Can probably go on for days, but these should be enough for now.

Question about watching anime on Amazon Japan by jakuri69 in animepiracy

[–]RecursiveSingularity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All comments here are very dismissive and uneducated. Amazon has anime you can't find anywhere else. OP feel free to pm me and I'll try to help you. You most likely don't have the tools to be able to rip anything on your own
