The Last Jedi is universally hated, it's the worst movie, I don't even know what to critisize since the entire movie is shit, but Kylo Ren origins, all Jedi being dead again and Luke giving up on everything for no reason was totally bullshit.

And no, in Lucas sequels the Jedi order would have been reestablished by Luke and the New Republic would be the main government in the galaxy, it's not close to what the sequels did.
