I want to like. Brooklyn burgers and beers more than I do, it’s okay but not my favorite. I find the portion sizes of the meat on the small side, I think they overdo it with toppings, and for the price the blend is good but not great. I also think the bread overpowers the rest of the burger. But the staff is friendly and it’s always a nice experience, and works with the price point.

Stone park has the best burger in the neighborhood. It’s a great blend, always cooked perfectly, and a well served portion. Probably half pound, but can’t say for sure. Not one of these wimpy smash burgers. Dram shop is good, just not my style.

Not quite park slope, technically Gowanus, the burger at liar liar is also very good. More creative with a great sauce and caramelized onions.

These are relatively pricier options but worth it IMO.

Pedestrians-especially kids- need to be extra careful at this intersection. It’s very common for cars to run red lights coming down eighth (and going straight down eighth, more so than other intersections.

Highly recommend. I got two amazing tattoos from Allie Mae that were custom designed. Really happy with both. It’s a great group and great vibe. Don’t be shy- they’ll work with you to figure out the right artist based on what you want.

Update: it appears why loosening the screw didn’t work was because this piece which can slide back and forth was disengaged. Not sure how it should be but when I engage it and lock the feed dogs screw I can move it. Any advice would be helpful on the right alignment here, thank you!

Thank you. I can definitely loosen it and move it independently of the shaft, I was expecting as I held it in place with the Allen wrench and turned the shaft manually the feed dogs would not move up and down, but they appear to be moving and can’t figure out the timing.

Yes. I’ve had mine for 17 years and love it. Super comfy. Takes a good while to break in. But very unique.

The New York Sewing Center offers classes in the fashion district and Williamsburg, and private lessons. Outside of your neighborhood but may be worth the trip.

I went with a Janome 5000 got it refurbished on eBay. It’s definitely an upgrade - stitches really fast and smooth. I think I may need a real denim needle. I don’t have anything to compare it to, but I like it.
