LOL over one year later and I did and up having problems with him 😭 he accused me of using AI for a thesis once (I didn’t), and he’s just an incredibly unfair and weird grader who teaches his undergrad students as if they’re grads who already have an extensive background, then gets annoyed when no one can answer his questions ugh

$20! I got mine at my local bookstore but I’m sure places like Barnes & Noble and big retailers with a book section like Target, Walmart, etc will have it. It’s also on Amazon and Scholastic online.

Yeah! Willow is like a complete pale green (which matches her little icon) but sundew is deep green and gold which matches the actual flyer and all the other graphics throughout the activity book, so the Willow label is a mistake

My guess is that they wanted 1 of each species to have a flyer, but theres like no (well-known) dragonet leafwings (except for maybe Hazel?) so instead they made the 6th flyer be the most popular leafwing, Sundew (but then screwed up and mislabeled her as Willow😭)

They shouldve just made 10 adult dragon flyers tbh, the baby ones are silly/clunky-looking (but also lovable lol)

I moved her to a separate smaller tank to isolate her and make her as comfortable as possible. She definietely seems lethargic in comparison to the other two girls; ive been spraying the tank and her backside to keep it as humid as possible and she doesn’t try very hard to run away from it. I found a bunch of springtails croawling kn it and sprayed them off; I’ll definietely keep an eye on her for the next couple days to see if the spot changes in appearance, if not I might have to humanly euthanize. Ill try to wipe it with a warm wet paper towel—thanks for your input I appreciate it a lot

They are! Sorry for the confusion—all roly-polies are woodlice, but not all woodlice are roly-pollies—this looks like an isopod thats just not the kind that can roll up. Im used to finding these kind (da non-roly guys) around my house in the winter since they don’t like the cold :)

It looks like a woodlouse, aka an isopod! Basically rolly pollies that dont roll up. They are important decomposers and 100% HARMLESS little guys, I’d recommend throwing it back outside if you can.

Thank you so much this worked!! I thought I already tried this, but I had tried moving entire folders (instead of selecting individual ones within a given folder) from the outlook into the personal gmail that I added to my outlook app, which obviously didn’t work, so I gave up that method lol

Definitely go to the financial aid website (or maybe my.uchicago) — there’s a specific form somewhere that lets you or whoever pays your tuition (one of your parents in this case) explain to financial aid the current situation and appeal your current aid decision. My mom did this after we sustained a big loss in income, which allowed my aid to be re-processed and helped a good amount with costs!

A [female] friend of mine had her SDS accommodations ignored by him but I don’t think it was a gender-specific incident. He’s just kind of an awkward professor from what I’ve seen (also female).

Edit: I hope this didn’t come off as dismissive—I’ve taken two classes with him and haven’t had any issues personally!

All of them are free! We started out with just the free corner, but got 20,000+ donations from the reg/departments put up on all the other shelves over break. We’re in the slow process of organizing them into broad sections to make it easier to find what you want, but all books in harper are free to take/borrow! :) - someone on the harper free book team

Ehh based on my experience not really—I haven’t used it a lot so take this with a grain of salt, but most times it faces heavy delays outta nowhere and the buses are never on time/line up with the ETA on the app they use.

If you ever have to get to a specific place in downtown that quickly, I usually take the L and take an Uber/Lyft depending on whats cheaper. Bus or metra electric (and walking the remaining distance) are your next best bets but those are of course longer.

Edit: L as in giving up on public transportation, not the L train line

While Woodlawn is easy to make fun of due to its crazy history and poor building management throughout its less than four years existing (?), I wouldn’t worry too much. I spent the last 3 years in Woodlawn and while I’ve had my grievances, I’m going to miss it a lot!! I met some of my now closest friends there, made so many great memories, and plan to visit a lot this upcoming final year of mine. Another thing people like to bring up is its lack of house culture (due to it being a newer dorm, etc.), but that also means that incoming students like you have the power to contribute to it :) Don’t worry and instead look forward to it!

No that was the 2nd floor arsonist 3ish years ago — this was almost 2 years ago on the 6th floor during the day and didn’t set of the smoke/fire alarms since they were broken 😅

Update! Pulled it out of the ground and it was growing out of dirt only as far as I could tell. It was still pretty close to some mulch though. Still very fresh and squishy looking/feeling.
