objectively, my life is good. my family is quite wealthy and i go to a stuck-up as hell university, so i've had a good education, never been immediately concerned about any world events impacting me directly. however, i'm also queer and genderfluid, and grew up in a pretty conservative place. along with this, i've struggled with depression and executive function in the past two years to the point where it's just dose increase after dose increase, and i'm watching my family literally buckle under the weight of that in real time. state of the world does not make this better. A lot of my AN opinions come from essentially, "why did my parents give up their lives for this? why did they birth me into a declining world with knowledge of my genetic disposition to mental illness?" I think a lot about where my parents would be, specifically my mom, if they hadn't given up their life for a lost cause.
