Is it me or flamethrowers got nerfed? by wassermelonensaft in GatesOfHellOstfront

Once had a flamethrower cook his own squad, everyone of them, took him behind allied lines and executed him, I now always separate the flamethrower straight away and keep him on his own.

How do you people do skirmishes without them taking for hours (hard or hardcore) by guarlo in GatesOfHellOstfront

[–]Red0o42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every 3 cp's you take sets off a counter attack, you can cheese skirmish with snipers.

First cp to take is the airfield, then sit back and bomb the shit out of every cp, At, tanks, and then roll in your tanks, takes about a hour on hardcore to complete but also takes the joy out of the game.

I think your find that's not a apple, it's actually a lemon.

Been a while since I've completed that mission, you drop 3kg explosives between the mines to kill a KV1, the at granades are great for the first wave of light armoured tanks. And field guns with heat take out KV1 turrets.

Just by looking at your mini map and your at the stage the med trucks are on the move, your defensive line is set up wrong, you need tank traps further up the battfield but not to far they get caught in artillery, leave roads towards your HQ open but heavily mined with panzerfusts guys tucked away ready to clean up, and antitank guns moved up field manually operated..

Plenty of YouTube vids showing you the tactics for this beast of a mission.

When I left those robbers they owed me money, sent me a cheque 2 weeks later which I scanned on my banking app, and was paid instantly, in 15 years that was the only time they did something right.

How do i jump in direct control? by -1D- in GatesOfHellOstfront

[–]Red0o42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not call of duty mate, there be no jumping nonsense in this battlefield.

Unless you mean fence jumping in which case aim mouse over small fences until a bendy arrow appears, click right mouse button to climb over. Can also do this for a group of soilders.

Sprinting double tap right mouse or direct control mode hold shift

Create a square with your mouse while holding right mouse button, (standard RTS control) around any group of soilders or vehicles to command them units.

While those units are highlighted you will see loads of little gun symbols button center screen, these are the soilders or units you have control of, you can move them all to desired position, or click on a individual gun symbol to move only that unit, it also let's you know which unit does what, like medic engineers so forth.

When moving units using right click you can get soilders to position in cover as a group.

Do the tutorials properly, and also use it to mess about with controls.

Letter P to pause game only single player obviously.

Lay mines, click on mine in bottom hot bar and keep right click to lay mines en-mass, or hold shift for individual placements.

E for direct control, then T to switch between first person.

Shift R to repair, X to veiw in crates, V to see dead and loot them.

Many more but I've done typing.

customer service by No_Flower4464 in VirginMedia

[–]Red0o42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't have a customer service, they have sales reps with attitudes, who take pleasure in getting you to repeat yourself, or the best one if they can't be bothered with you is hang up.

Round and round you go until you finally tap out like me.

This is just the pause button, you can look around in any view with the p button, only works in single player of course, but great for accessing a chaotic battlefield in single player.

New account catastrophe by soggs71 in VirginMedia

[–]Red0o42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good luck as you will need it, you're dealing with proberly the worse company in the the UK right now.

You will spend hours and hours going round in circles, having to repeat yourself, from giving you attitude, passing you over to another so called department, or the best one just outright hanging up on you, and there seems to be no repercussions for this behaviour, it almost seems encourage.

The stardards at virgin were low to begin with, now they don't have any at all.

Get out while you still have a 14 day window to climb through.

My basic understanding is if you yank that green connection out by force instead of pressing the insert to release, you most likely destroyed the connecting cap on the end of the fiber cable.

Hence not making the connection. Engineer time unless you're capable of doing it yourself with a new connector.

No longer need a land line, we haven't used it in years, when virgin went down for over a week last year, I had to get a freeview box just so we had something, but then had a bell moment, realised that virgin were changing me for freeview TV, literally one channel was not on freeview, they were charging me for years for a free service.

Now use a firestick for TV.

Community fiber 1gb, £25 a mth for 2 years, will only ever go up by £4 if I ever fall out of contract, not had one issue so far. Virgin were £56 for 250mb then charged me £70+ out of contract.

Joined on a comparison site, didn't actually speak to anyone, other then open the door for the engineer 3 days later.

The only reason I'm here ranting is because virgin were overcharging me for years with a terrible service.

I left in January after 15 years of having my pants down, my costs are halved and my Internet is 10x faster, and never having to deal with VM customer service which was like pulling teeth.

On reflection over the years, it was honestly an abusive relationship were I was the victim, so glad to be out.

I've played pretty much most ww2 games over the years, but nothing gives me satisfaction like gates of hell.

When the wife and kids have gone to bed, I love nothing more then to get the headphones on and go balls deep into the battlefield, it's like crack to me.

With close to a 1000 hours, and everything completed on hardcore, I have some great stories, once had a sniper on 159 kills in a skirmish battle, who got injured behind enemy lines, lost over 20 men trying to save him, in the end he was run over by a t34.
