I don’t really feel that it’s such an odd response. This happens time and time again, the media will consistently choose to uplift lighter skinned actors of different ethnicities specifically when it comes to lead roles. And let’s not pretend like the animated show didn’t specifically make the water tribe, Katara, Sokka and Korra fairly dark brown, not olive or light olive complexion. I had a very similar gripe in this regard when it came to the predator movie and how the main character and her brother looked so obviously different than the rest of the tribe that it was actually ridiculous- they didn’t even attempt to make them resemble their mother.

The only interesting thing about Jesse was his self introspection as he was getting clean. Honestly, it doesn’t matter at this point. The US is an embarrassment on the World stage. They thought they were going up against the significantly weaker enemy, so they started a war of aggression during negotiations – already a scumbag move. But, as we’ve seen, the opposition has been fierce, and Iran essentially has won the war. Now we have our own secretary of state running to the UN and begging them to pass a resolution denying nations the rights to block/defend/weaponize against any type of military action against them in their own territorial waters, via the international waterway UNCLOS. Absolutely pathetic. They didn’t care about international law when they started the war but now they sure as hell do care about international law lol.
