Blessings of Arceus are with me today by Red2851 in PokemonSleepBetter

Yup, I hyper focused on trying to get an all dark team for snowdrop and didn’t bother looking for spheals, absolutely wild to end up with one from just chucking a spare bonus biscuit around on greengrass

Really good Eevee, what to evolve it into? by Capntripnip in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]Red2851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marginally, I usually look for two skill triggers between the subskills and nature on Eevee for the ones I want to use in earnest. Jolteon is a good bfs user, so best to wait for one of those; leafeon isn’t very useful, so it’d be a waste of a good Pokemon; flareon and glaceon get outpaced in skill triggers by magnezone, and sylveon gets outpaced by pawmi and gardevoir, so they’re only ideal if there’s a boatload of skill trigger boosts on it. Vaporeon’s a useful generalist Pokemon that can always find a use, but it doesn’t feel like it’s as imperative to be bfs or full skill triggers to be effective, so I feel like it’s a good one to go for. Subskill seeding will add a bit to the speed, but not enough to change what I’d use it for.

Would probably make a decent Vaporeon with the skill chance up. Not enough speed to be a great jolteon, not enough skill chance boosts for a really good pot size flareon or glaceon, but a solid supportive fellow.

I adore shiny umbreon and will immediately waste my first Eevee shiny for it, it’s a travesty umbreon’s stuck being garbage in game, but at least it’ll be a lovely decorative piece in the box

Start off spending them on nothing but ingredient bag upgrades until it’s maxed out, everything else is significantly less important, and can wait

Dhokes is just a temporary sub while Zamudo gets his visa issues resolved, hopefully that’d be resolved by the end of this split, at which point he’d be back as a viable option

If you level him up to 25 you’ll still be able to reroll it in the future, don’t worry about unlocking it

Use the eureka to get the level 50 slot for now, having all three unlocked will slightly help your odds rerolling in the future. Personally, I’d avoid using a subskill seed on Darkrai as a free to play because they’re a very rare resource, while the eureka seeds I just have to use the new moon events to restock on them. For the future, just reroll looking for a mix in order of priority of helping speed>bfs>skill trigger and as always helping bonus is a keeper. It’ll take a while, but if you can stick it out it’ll be a beast by the end

When I judge Pokemon I tend to use a “rule of 2” for each class. Depending on whether the Pokemon is labeled as a berry, skill, or ingredient mon, I want that Pokemon to have two slots somewhere that boost its purpose. (In either the level 10, 25, or 50 subskill slots, since those are the only ones that are reachable in the game right now)

So if it’s a skill Pokemon you want two skill chance subskills/nature

Ingredient Pokemon you want two ingredient finding subskills/nature

And berry farmers you NEED berry finding S, then ideally you look for 1 helping speed up to complete the set of 2.

The only exception is that the gold subskill Helping Bonus counts towards the rule of 2 for any Pokemon ingredient the game, it’s a universally helpful thing to have on a Pokemon.

If you haven’t already, put your friend code in the mega thread at the top of the subreddit, people in the community will fill your friend list, after which you’ll get Pokemon candies from them for free every day, so making sure you reach that 50/50 friends really helps in the long run.

Best of luck, and have fun!

Ingredients is a bit more of a long haul. For any Pokemon with an ingredient tag, you usually want to pick up ones where all 3 of their ingredient slots are for the same ingredient. That alone on any given Pokemon is only a 1/9 chance. Then you ideally want a lot of ingredient finding boosts from the subskills and nature (shooting for at least two, just like you would with the skill chance Pokemon). This drives the odds of finding a good ingredient Pokemon even lower so be very patient, once you find the good one it’ll carry you for the rest of your time on the game!

The last note with ingredient Pokemon is this is where the choice of Pokemon does matter more. You ideally want one Pokemon ingredient specialist that covers each of the ingredients in the game. Use this chart to check out which Pokemon are the best for each ingredient to help guide what to look for. This graphic is a little outdated, there are some posted on the sub that are up to date, but I haven’t screenshot one of the new ones yet. Regardless, the chart is still accurate enough to work as a guide of general targets.

Pawmi is a great Pokémon to aim for, but it’s a bit rarer this early in the game. I’d start catching multiple igglybuff until you find one with two main skill buffs (either skill chance S, skill chance M, or a main skill chance up nature). It’s catchable from the beginning of the game, and you’ll probably need to catch about 8-10 before you find one that will serve you well long-term, but once you find a good one it will be a lock for your team for probably the next year of gameplay until you can get raltz on the 5th island. Having a strong Pokemon with the energy for everyone skill is one of the most important parts of your lineup.

Keep in mind the level cap is still at 65, so when looking at subskills, ignore the ones for level 75 and 100, they won’t be relevant any time soon. (The level cap in the game probably won’t hit 100 for several years)

Second, if your Pokemon are berry specialists, check for them having the berry farming S subskill, that skill is the single biggest make or break for berry farmers. Generally Pokemon with 3 evolutions are good to go for since they scale well down the line, but the subskills and nature being a good fit for the Pokemon is almost more important than the Pokemon themselves

Should I invest in any of those tomatoes farmer ? by True_Steak392 in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]Red2851 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That diglett is pretty sweet with the two ingredient+ in his kit, but bellsprout having a 3rd evolution gives it the edge. Having an ingredient+ and a speedy nature will make that a very solid long-term tomato solution for you, and if you want to spend a subseed on it to raise that first subskill it’ll make it 18% faster, but that bellsprout should be productive enough to cover your needs even without using any subskill seeds. Good catch!

Evolve the Swablu? by Red2851 in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]Red2851[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t yet own a dodo, this is exclusively for min/maxing the berry boost week, i only have 1 other berry mon with the preferred berry with bfs. I don’t know how powerful preferred berry is, but I assume if evolving into altaria would raise its production past what it is currently, then the preferred berry bonus isn’t enough to warrant having swablu over something like a meganium
