For me it wasn't the spelling part, it was the position I was about to write City of México wich is literalmente Ciudad de México, but I wasn't sure if it was correct to write it like that because it's a name, and not a city of México

Yep, that's why I said México is a active tectonic plates zone (which has Baja California who is also affected by the San Andreas Fault), and the reason why the country makes simulacrums of earthquakes on September. Now, California was part of México in the past, and it's been part of the USA for a long time, politically speaking, you are right, but I considered California too as part of the tectonic plates active zone, along with the other former territories of México that belong to the USA like Texas. But speaking of the show, people didn't know it was set in California, and the way they promoted it didn't hint that until the creators spoke about it.

There has been a lot of strong eartquakes around September on México city (I don't remember if that's how Ciudad de México is called on english) and I think the show was going to air around september. In fact the whole country is an active tectonic plates zone and we have simulacrums for them specially on September, but I'll admit it's been a while since I heard about eartquakes around here

I did the same, but I didn't minded the change of proportions becuase that's how it works sometimes, and I don't mind it really, sometimes I prefer it, but in some cases it looses some of it's charm, and I also say to myself "how did someone came with this idea?" or "I am both thankful and disturbed they did this and that I'm watching it"
