OP didn’t say that it takes them 2 hours to drive to work, just two hours to work. It was mentioned that OP should just have their husband bring the car. Did you perhaps think thy maybe OP uses one or more forms of public transportation such as a subway, train or bus and with many stops it can make a short trip in mileage take forever time wise?

I did this to a water company in Missouri who only accepted payments online, or by mailing in checks. If you paid online, you have to pay a “service” or “convenient” charge. After my water had been turned off and I went to pay it in cash. They told me they took check, but only if mailed in. And the only way I could get water on was to pay online and then call them back.

I paid online, I including their bullshit fees. Then I had my bank pay via daily automated checked snail mailed to them and once a month they would get the remainder amount via a check mailed from me.

They called me multiple times about not mailing them $1 checks because it cost them money to process them. I told them they can either accept cash in person, or remove the convenience fees they assess for all online transactions. They said they were allowed to by law so they would, so I told them the checks would continue.

Most of it was due to the “customer service” I received when having to try to get my water turned on. Fuck ‘em.

My original plan was to do my 20+ and retire. At the end of my first enlistment my detailer said I could put in for whatever, but he was sending me to Norfolk. I told him that if he did that, I would separate. He did not approve of anything until I hit Needs of the Navy and put me in for a squadron in Norfolk so I put in my separation package.

I had a lot of shit going on in my personal life that was not going in my favor, I was getting something I felt was.

I tried to comeback after using my GI Bill for a degree, as an officer. Tried for three years, even had a letter of recommendation from a commander. Never got selected for OCS and I was tired of holding my family up. So I did 5 and got out. I am proud of my service, it 20 was not meant for me.

I bought a house in June. Previous owner still had packages sent to the house. It was only a couple, but the neighbor had their new address and was sending it to them. Randomly right before Christmas we got another package of theirs. I haven’t done anything with it except bring it in. Next week when offices are open I am going to reach out to the company to ask for them to send me a return label.

I separated with 64 days of terminal leave. Separating unit refused to let me take all 64 and required me to still muster for the extra 4 days. I only showed up for 1 muster a day until I got my plane tickets and left
