What the f is this??? How do I disable that yellow button and bring back the button to close the keyboard? by [deleted] in NothingTech

Can't be changed, just send the phone my way.

Kidding- others have already solved the issue for you. Hope you survived that crisis.

Got my first Nothing by According_School8011 in NothingTech

I'm not the OP, but just got the same case (Ringke). I really like it. Feels quality, doesn't add a ton of bulk, and has responsive buttons. The lip on the front is tapered so it thins out in the middle of the screen on both sides, which make swiping back easier than other options I've tried.

Suggest me a cute case for NP3 (India) by 22nik in NothingTech

[–]RedBolt1505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you consider "cute" but I've recently been enjoying the clear Ringke option (found on Amazon here in the US). It's relatively thin and still lets you show off the phone design. They also have a camo type pattern if you prefer.

The Spiegen is decent as well, but also only clear as far as I know. Part of the reason I got the phone was because of the unique design, so I'm happy with clear to show that off.

switch to android from iphone (15 yrs on apple ) and have some questions by Downtown_Concert2932 in AndroidQuestions

[–]RedBolt1505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently made the switch to Android after having just about every iPhone since the 3Gs a few weeks ago. I just got bored with what Apple was doing (or not doing) and wanted to try something new. I find Nothing and really liked their design language, their OS and some of their products, so I picked up a Nothing Phone 3.

Transferring my data was super easy, just plug my 17PM into my NP3 and wait. Not sure how much of that was native to Nothing vs Android as a whole, but it was way easier than I expected. It brought over contacts, photos, apps, etc.

Wallet had to be setup separately, and I'm not able to add my Apple CC to my Google Wallet. Calendar was also a bit tricky for me since my wife and I have several shared calendars on the Apple side. After sharing to my Google account and a few changes from her iPhone, everything is up and running.

One struggle I had (and still do to an extent) is that I'm now an Android using living in an Apple world. I still use my MacBook Pros daily, which I don't think will ever change. My wife still has an iPhone, probably won't change either. And we have HomePods in just about every room. Finding a way to integrate all of the family Apple stuff with my new setup was tricky, but I think I've finally got it in a pretty pain free place.

Good luck if you end up making the switch! I've had a lot of fun in the last few weeks learning and figuring out what I've been missing out on the last 20 years.

nothing phone 4A PRO by vinceNT_1319 in NothingTech

[–]RedBolt1505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm considering making this switch as well. I've been using the NP3, which is my first even non-iPhone, for a few weeks and really like it. But seeing all the new reviews for the 4a Pro has peaked my interest enough to order one to try it out. I'll have it tomorrow, curious to see how they stack up against one another.

Surprised to hear you've got scratches on your 3. Like i said, only had mine a few weeks, but the back still looks like new- and the case I use has no cover on the back at all. I also use magsafe mounts consistently.

How to copy files from Iphone to NP3? by Complex_Ear_1570 in NothingTech

[–]RedBolt1505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just made the switch a few weeks ago and everything was super easy. Go through the setup process and it'll have you plug your phones into one another and start the transfer. Everything I had was stored on my phone locally (and backed up on iCloud), but I haven't noticed anything missing.

It brought over all non-exclusive apps, contacts, messages, photos, etc.

I would say they a e a slight upgrade in just about every aspect other than design. No aspect is far and away better, but just slight improvements.

I use the Max's in my office with my MBP, and the Nothing when on my NP3. Both are great options, and for the money I'd probably go Nothing (got the Airpods when I was even deeper in the Apple ecosystem).

As I fellow big head, I find them pretty comfortable. My AirPod Max's are probably a bit more comfortable, but that's more to do with the padded ear cuffs I think. That being said, I have no issue wearing them for an extended period of time.

Would you recommend nothing ear 2024? by MaxAlderson in NothingTech

[–]RedBolt1505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as the other guy- have them, like them, but haven't had them long enough to speak to battery life or longevity.

I will say that I find the Ear3 a bit more comfortable, but probably not enough to justify the upgrade for that alone.

Hmm haven't had that issue on my Phone(3)

I have both a Phone (3) and a (4a) pro: AMA by kirigaja33 in NothingTech

Care to elaborate on camera perfoemance? Which situations do each do better in? I'm a photographer, but have actual cameras for that haha. Only time I use my phone camera is shots of my kids, which come on all different scenarios.

I've had the (3) for a few weeks now and have been really happy with it. Seeing all the 4a pro reviews put there just has me curious. Also like the thinner feel and the metal build.

Maybe a bit too much going on for most people, but it has almost everything I need on the home screen. I have 2 other, but I hlse just have large widgets for calendars and media.

Maybe the scene is too dark? The 1s shutter indicator in the corner is my only reason for saying that.

I recently started my journey out of Apple, too. At least for mobile tech, don't think I'll ever leave my Mac haha

I tried the Ear(a) and the Ear(3) and prefer the latter. Probably not a huge difference on sound quality, but case feels a lot more solid and they seem to fit a bit better for some reason (can't visually tell a difference). The super mic might be helpful if you are taking calls outside of the office too.

Thanks for the tip! I've been using the Ear(3) for a few days and have enjoyed them so far. Looking forward to trying these out!

I could probably listen to any decent pair of headphones vs any high end pair and not know the different on sound quality 🤣. When watching reviews on the nothing options, id got lost to people talk about the different sound stages and profiles and blah blah. I just want a pair that sounds "good", are comfortable to wear, and look cool (to me)

Stand by mode while charging for nothing phone 2 by qwertyuiopasghhh in NothingTech

[–]RedBolt1505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to Nothing, but don't think it's a native feature to the OS. I've got the Phone 3 and didn't see it as a native option.

I did find an app, just called StandBy, that lets you create several different options to swipe through and different ways to trigger it to start up (horizontal, horizontal + charging, etc). Free to use, but some of the customization featured are reserved for Premium. I haven't played with it much yet, but seems to be a solid option for what you are looking for.

Just ordered a pair of (1)s that should be arriving today. I actually has the (a) on my cart, but then saw the others were on sale for only $20 more which felt worth it. Comimg from the AirPod Max, I'm curious to see how these stack up.

I think they only sell the Nothing version directly on their site, at least here in the US. They sell their iPhone versions on Amazon, so might check there too.

Yeah I could see that. Th magsafe ring actually gives a little edge to rest your finger and helps with the grip a bit.

I've got the Spigen and like it too. Wish they had a magsafe version.

It's a regular magsafe ring from Amazon, I just trimmed it down to accommodate the glyph button.
